The Living Force
I had an interesting dream last night that I'd like to share.
I actually had several dreams but this is the one I remember the most, and I find pretty relevant to what I'm going through in my life at the moment.
In the dream, I was friends with a girl and a boy (didn't know either of them irl)- we grew up together and were best friends. The girl was Palestinian and the boy was Israeli.
We were the best of friends when we were young, but when we grew up, we began to separate. I remember that one day the girl chose to go to the village she originated from to help the people suffering there, and the boy told me he thought what the girl was doing was stupid and that he had joined the Israeli army. I begged him to reconsider, but he wouldn't and told me that he was going to find the village of the girl and destroy it and asked me if I knew where it was. I told him I didn't, even though I did, and he left. I was torn, because I knew what he was doing was wrong but I loved him and saw him as my dear friend I grew up with, I cried very hard because I knew I had lost the dear friend I knew.
I remember I made a decision to go help the girl and find her, I was about to go when I realized that I must cross this really yucky, swampy, disgusting ocean to get to her. I began to gear up in scuba-diving gear, while gearing-up I noticed a black cat staring at me from the corner of my eye. Once I was geared-up, I was hesitant to go in because the water was very disgusting. But I really wanted to reach the girl and warn and help her, so I went in, at first the water was shallow so I was walking in deeper. As I took a few more steps I noticed the cat transformed into the Israeli boy. I asked him how he did that, and he said that it was "part of his training". I told him that I could not believe what he had sunk to, and he stood there listening. And then I woke up..
I cried when I woke up from this dream because They were both my very good friends in the dream and they turned into enemies. It made me think about how many people experience that in their daily lives in Palestine and Israel.
The muddy water to me represented the road to truth and that sometimes you have to get downright dirty to get to it. I think it reflected something I'm going through with my mom at the moment- where I tried to tell her some truth and she very harshly lashed out at me.
Anyway that's what I picked up from it, comments as always are welcomed.
