Interesting Dream

The Living Force
I had an interesting dream last night that I'd like to share.

I actually had several dreams but this is the one I remember the most, and I find pretty relevant to what I'm going through in my life at the moment.

In the dream, I was friends with a girl and a boy (didn't know either of them irl)- we grew up together and were best friends. The girl was Palestinian and the boy was Israeli.

We were the best of friends when we were young, but when we grew up, we began to separate. I remember that one day the girl chose to go to the village she originated from to help the people suffering there, and the boy told me he thought what the girl was doing was stupid and that he had joined the Israeli army. I begged him to reconsider, but he wouldn't and told me that he was going to find the village of the girl and destroy it and asked me if I knew where it was. I told him I didn't, even though I did, and he left. I was torn, because I knew what he was doing was wrong but I loved him and saw him as my dear friend I grew up with, I cried very hard because I knew I had lost the dear friend I knew.

I remember I made a decision to go help the girl and find her, I was about to go when I realized that I must cross this really yucky, swampy, disgusting ocean to get to her. I began to gear up in scuba-diving gear, while gearing-up I noticed a black cat staring at me from the corner of my eye. Once I was geared-up, I was hesitant to go in because the water was very disgusting. But I really wanted to reach the girl and warn and help her, so I went in, at first the water was shallow so I was walking in deeper. As I took a few more steps I noticed the cat transformed into the Israeli boy. I asked him how he did that, and he said that it was "part of his training". I told him that I could not believe what he had sunk to, and he stood there listening. And then I woke up..

I cried when I woke up from this dream because They were both my very good friends in the dream and they turned into enemies. It made me think about how many people experience that in their daily lives in Palestine and Israel.

The muddy water to me represented the road to truth and that sometimes you have to get downright dirty to get to it. I think it reflected something I'm going through with my mom at the moment- where I tried to tell her some truth and she very harshly lashed out at me.

Anyway that's what I picked up from it, comments as always are welcomed.

Dream action is about the dynamics of your own life (hopes, fears, questions, conflicts, way out of difficulties, possibilities, etc.) The dream action may use images from experiences of the previous day or so before, as well as others. The dream symbols may be both literal and symbolic interpretations – be curious and naïve in your interpretation.

And, from a Fourth Way perspective,

… Basically, in the deepest (i.e. normal) sleep, there are no dreams. Most dreams are left over energy from one or several of the centers, and the dream content reflects this. Vaysse lists three normal kinds of dreams: associative (reactive/mechanical), compensatory (emotional), and symbolic (higher emotional). (Also telepathic, prophetic, etc.)

So … it's important to know if the dream is actually symbolic and not either of the former options. And even then, your higher self will speak in symbols specific for you, ...

Water is usually about emotions and spirit of life.

Think about the dream as you go through the day, and test insights and ideas gained. Understand obvious metaphors. Keep using language and images of dream whenever possible. Interpretations may spring to light. String descriptions together to bridge dream experience to any situation in life.

This may help, or not.

Maybe both of your friends in that dream were actually made a deal or agreement long time before. She will go to that village in the end and his mission ( free will ) was to accept the negative position because that is how he is helping her by testing the WILL and AWARENESS of her. She went to that village to help "OTHERS" ( herself ) with her WISDOM and KNOWLEDGE and he is coming to be one of a catalysts of changes that she is experiencing. Will she succeed in her mission? What do YOU think? ;) :)

Hmm I'm not really sure what to think. But I do know that he was in no way trying to help her. And the only way he wanted to be that catalyst of change was through destruction.

I try to think of dreams usually as symbolic representation of stuff within your life at that moment, or your thought processes/daily activity. So for me, I think the dream represented something internal going on at that time.

Just a thought but I was wondering if the girl represented in some form the interaction you have with your mother. Another thought is that perhaps the dream was you processing your own feelings concerning the Palestinian and Israeli situation.

This is a definite possibility. At the time this dream occurred we were going through a tough time regarding some political views. Though I'm not sure what you mean by the girl representing the interaction. Do you mean that the girl is the interaction, or the girl represents me or my mother? (sorry if I'm being dense) :-[

This is also a possibility. I'm always thinking about the Palestinian-Israeli situation. More so lately... and I've been quite emotional about it too. So it's very possible.

No worries! I was thinking that the girl might represent either you or your mother. Not quite sure which but since it's your dream I'm leaning more towards her representing you or more specifically the part of you that listened to your mother when you were a child. You wrote:

So perhaps now that you are attempting to separate from your mother in a sense, you're processing this. Hope that makes sense. :)

Ah that does make sense, and something to ponder about. Thank you Truth Seeker! :)
