Interesting study

I was listening to the radio earlier (John Tesh radio program) and he was saying that a study had been done by a Dr.Cross (didn't catch the first name). They took patients who had recently been through bad break-ups that were very painful and put them through an MRI brain scan. Apparently the part of the brain that was lit up was the same parts that lights up when a hot probe was stuck to other test subjects' arms (just hot enough to hurt, not burn). He made the relation that emotional pain is painful physically also. This doctor said his theory was that primal intincts cause this because back when man hunted and traveled in packs, to be banished from a group almost meant certain death for that individual and now the feelings of rejection we have are a defense mechanism hard wired into us for these reasons.

Just thought that would be some interesting info, some probably never doubted this. I could probably speculate also that this can also be linked in the studies of animal intincts and emotion... idk :) hopefully this is somewhat relevant or interesting to anyone ;)

Along the same thought, SOTT recently carried this article: http://www.sott.net/articles/show/181284-Breaking-Up-Can-Literally-Break-Your-Heart
