Sitting at a computer all day, I am either constantly slouching or will cross my legs on my chair, which are both really bad habits. I was curious if there was a device that could monitor your posture and alert you when you slouch, and I found this online:

It's a sensor that you can clip to your shirt or stick to your skin. You set the device by first exhibiting good posture and pressing on the device to set that angle as a reference point. Once activated, if you change your angle by more than 3 degrees for 60 seconds it will vibrate to let you know you are slouching. I read some reviews online and I couldn't find anyone who used it long-term, but many people said it seems to work as they noticed their abs or lower-back were sore after the first day, indicating they were using different muscles to hold themselves erect. They also mentioned it would go off all the time, because they were in fact slouching. All the reviews I found were positive, I couldn't find any negative ones. It seems to work as advertised at least. It was created by two doctors, Dr. Moacir Schnapp a neurologist and pain management doctor, and his wife Dr. Elma Schnapp a rehabilitation expert.
The idea is after using it for a few weeks, you can train yourself to use good posture, and you would not need the device anymore. Does anyone have any thoughts on this? Is that cheating by using a device to remind myself to use good posture, instead of fostering self-remembrance?
