Iraq's al-Maliki to U.S., Iran: Stop proxy war in my country

Well, that does it, the US must certainly act now. Al-Maliki, a paragon of independent strength, conviction, and action, who is not at all a puppet of the US gov't, is asking us to stop Iran from waging this horrible proxy war in his country. How can we, as Americans, deny this plea from our ally?

I noticed that this story was buried under many higher-ranking CNN stories "Iran links probed in attack on U.S. soldiers" (propaganda), "Buxom, teeny waist mailbox art miffs neighbor" (distraction), "Eight arrested in Britain terror raids" (propaganda), "Man with pitchfork found at Prince Charles' home" (distraction), and others. You get the idea.

BAGHDAD (CNN) -- Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki is strongly urging Iran and the United States to settle their "struggle" outside Iraq and not use Iraq as a proxy battleground.

[...]

At the same time, al-Maliki said bluntly that he believes Iran is, in fact, targeting U.S. forces in Iraq -- a repeated assertion from the Bush administration...

"We will not accept Iran to use Iraq to attack the American forces, but does this not exist? It exists and I assure you it exists, because it is based on the struggle between the two countries."
