Sorry, forgot to put the link in....

Decent video, but it has the obligatory propaganda towards the end - don't really worry about sugar, just have a "balanced diet", exercise, and consume fewer calories. Coming from a farmer who doesn't seem to care for scientific research, from the blatant links of sugar to disease, and thinks just reducing calories and exercising is all that we need to do. Maybe it was their attempt to add a dissenting voice to "balance" the show - but he had no scientific or even logical backing for anything he said, he just doesn't really care about the studies for no reason other than it's just his "opinion".

It's similar to the "everything in moderation" concept - would you want to sip cyanide in moderation and let it kill you slowly? Why not eliminate what is toxic as completely as possible and stick to what has been scientifically and circumstantially shown to be healthy and nutritious for the body and mind? If it wasn't for that one piece of propaganda nonsense, I'd share this video, but I just know that all those people who love their carbs will jump on that one little bit about "don't worry about it, just lower calories and exercise" as their takeaway from this - anything they can get to rationalize their established beliefs.

The doctor in question has another video about sugar (which is mentioned in this one) and I think I've seen it and it is better, but it's long and of course too "boring" for the average joe, so that too is not ideal for mass consumption.

I just got back from hiking with a meetup group at the state park today and during one of our breaks, I looked at the water bottle that someone was drinking. It was Nestle's Pure Life Purified Water, which contains Purified Water, Calcium Chloride, Sodium Bicarbonate and Magnesium Sulfate for a "better taste." I was commenting on how much stuffs being added to a water bottle and they increases one's cravings, and then a group organizer mentioned that he recently watched a documentary on 60 Minutes about sugar being toxic. Everyone was shocked and do not believe it. There were comments passing back and forth about sugar and how much they need it.

Then, the organizer told them about the "moderation" and so on. There were "relief" among the group. I told them about me being on an all-meat diet to avoid sugar and carbs, and how sugar is causing a number of diseases and other health problems. Then, someone changed the subject to something else and the subject of this documentary/sugar was forgotten. I was surprisingly happy that "sugar is toxic" subject was passing around among the population. But, there appears to be an defensive reactions to it. I just sent a couple of SoTT articles on sugar to the organizer since he was the one who brought this documentary up.
