Is the "reset" of humanity need due to an imminent AI quantum leap?

If we look at what Google is doing, we see a company that build a network of computers able to access practically at all the knowledge on earth (Books scanning, newspapers, Youtube, people live through android, cartography of streets and even inside buildings now) and which is building robots (Bigdog and derivatives) to interact.

We don't know what is going on behind the scene but we can speculate that 4D is at the manoeuvre and perhaps want to plug an AI on all of this to see what happen. So my question.

It kind of makes sense from one perspective (an ultimate control mechanism), but if we're talking about hyperdimensional, time-travelling beings who can manipulate events on timelines at will, then why would they need an AI overlord?

In my view they don't need it, they do the experience of giving it to us to see what happen. But after reflection it can only be a parameter among other. But it can be one, would be interesting to know.
