Since the Hebdo shooting there are combat dressed cops with machine guns standing in front of banks and sometimes metro entrances in my neighbourhood in Madrid.
I don´t find cops with machine guns comforting at all.
A few days ago there was a small street blocked by a police car while the police was looking into a van on the street. When I passed the van on my way to the shop, I saw a cardboard box in the van, with " je suis" handwritten on it, and I had a weird feeling of being in a movie.
What it feels like is that "they" know that people are poor here, that people are tired of the thiefing lying people in power, and so police with machine guns are placed everywhere to quickly kill anyone who rebels.
I don´t know if it´s anything to write about here (I guess we all know) but had to get it off my chest as I have to go to the bank and so will probably have to push a few machine guns out of my face on the way, before standing in the secured glassbox in the entrance of the bank while they watch me for a while to see if my bag is big enough to carry any bombs with me, and then after waiting in line for a while with the other sheeps, finally be allowed to pay my bills...
