Does this seem odd to anyone else? Perhaps this quake was induced as well? Also, if so, what has Japan done recently to warrant these actions? This is the only thing I could come up with at the moment.

It seems they have been hit by a good number of quakes lately. Maybe I am just making a mountain out of a mole hill, but after what the C's said about Haiti I was just a little curious. I also apologize if the links or post itself was posted in a difficult manner to read.

I lived in Japan for a couple of years in the 60s when I was in high school and there was a whole lot of shaking going on, even then. We had a seismograph in the lobby at the main entrance to the school. But it might be easier to induce quakes in a geological region like that.

Following Chile earthquake is more disastrous with 8.8 magnitude.
I almost never heard of such a big scale and concern about people suffered.

Massive earthquake strikes Chile

Japan is always rattling on the edge of continental plates,so constructional standards are very shockproof.
Fortunately reported rather small damages though hit by "a magnitude 6.9 earthquake" near Okinawa.

Okinawa has some problem with American military strategy now.

But average Japanese people know this is a political show along with the TOYOTA SHOW.

I do not have any clue that the Okinawa quake was artificial one.
But I feel Chile quake is more likely just by my instinct for now.

Hi HAL, and welcome to the forum. We ask that all new members post a short introduction in the Newbies section -- just something short about yourself and how you found the forum :)

I couldn't help but wonder the same thing with Chile. The only thing is that both of these countries sit in the ring of fire and experience earthquakes quite regularly.

The fact that Japan's new prime minister, Yukio Hatoyama, has said that it is his intention to stop paying for wars and start paying for humanitarian purposes just may be his death ticket.

If you've read Prouty's books, you will know that the "power elite" want world war at all cost so that they can continue making their gazillions of dollars and anybody seen throwing a monkey wrench into the deal just is not going to be tolerated, or so I think.

Anyway, when I saw Incoming Tokyo government threatens split with US, I knew that something would have to be done with Japan. And it looks, by the links you have posted, that economic problems are hitting Japan and also a new slew of earthquakes.

I wonder if target practice is what's going on. But, then, as I said, these two countries, Japan and Chile, have violent earthquakes all by themselves so it is hard to tell.
