Jean-Pierre Roy / Apocalyptic paintings

The Living Force
I discovered the works of Jean Pierre Roy and I thought that it was interesting somehow.

What strikes me in his paintings, despite the incredible skill and realism is that his works seems to be directly beamed up in his head about future vision of alien invasions (no aliens, mostly bright ufos), destroyed buildings and comets falling down (or planes who knows ?).

If you have the time, start with his older works in 2005 up to now.
He went from unreal landscapes but rooted in reality to visions of destruction.
I think he manages to make it look beautiful by the use of vivid colours and at the same time, knowing what is coming makes me quite uneasy as well.

Check it out if you will here :

Wow...talk about stunning. A few times I did have to shake the feeling they where prophetic...either way he certainly captures something in them thats quite unsettlingly real.

Either way, they are stunning....

Stunning, indeed! The titles are as evocative as the artwork: "Even the fire couldn't wake us", "Feast of the Bull God", and so on. Well worth taking a look at.

Thanks for the link.
