Just a story to share

The Living Force
Wanted to share this, it was kind of neat.

I was speeding on the way to work this morning, as a result of waking up late. Cause and effect, eh... I'm still a reactionary machine. :/

Anyhow, the officer was a nice man, I explained and he let me off with a warning. Then about two minutes down the road, a full grown bald eagle flew out of the woods and passed right in front of my truck, about 15 ft. above the ground. I mean, the "timing" of it was on the nail. I saw the tail feathers, the detail of the wings, the giant white head, everything. If I hadn't have been in the truck, I could've probably heard its wings flapping.

Funny thing is, as a result of sleeping through my alarm, feeling a bit stressed and rushing out of the house, speeding, and getting pulled over - all of which might normally set me off on the "wrong foot" for a couple hours, I got to witness a magnificent bird up close and personal.

Then, ironically enough, I got to school and only one of my students is here, all the rest are absent.

So, all in all, a very interesting morning. :)

It's really neat, thanks for sharing, JonnyRadar! And what a beautiful symbol: the eagle crossing your way...

Speaking of that, what do you associate with an eagle? What does it symbolize for you? What does it symbolize in general?
Did this happen 'by chance'? Could it be a reminder of 'something' to you? Could it be a 'message'...? Or maybe a spark of hope?
You find out. :)

Well, I'm tempted to read a bunch of things into it, but I don't want to intellectualize it too much. The main thing I find myself thinking right now is about the uselessness (and potential danger) of stress and rushing. i.e., it rained last night and the roads are wet, so by speeding I was being careless and putting myself and other people on the road in danger, that's just a fact. A bit embarrassing, but there it is. Also, since there's only one student here and I can't do my lesson plan for the day when 99% of the class is gone, the fact that I was late didn't ultimately matter that much, except in terms that I should just be on time for work anyway. As far as consequences go, I was already late, so if I was going to be chastised by my Dean or anything like that, it was going to happen anyway. Thus, rushing and being reactionary did absolutely nothing productive.

However, had I not been slowed down by the police officer I probably wouldn't be having these thoughts right now. It was funny, taking the whole picture into account, he said to me "Just take it easy ok? Slow down..." Good advice! And then, almost as a confirmation of his advice, I saw the eagle, flying lazily across my path, as if to say "Hey, the cop was right, just take it easy."

Perhaps this can serve as an inspiration - that when you feel stressed, or rushed, or obligated to be somewhere/do something quickly. Stop for a moment and observe objectively the situation. The stress, most likely, comes from a sense of fear. Fear of consequences, fear of perception, etc... Yet in this case had I slowed my own mind and realized the consequences for being late were/are already in play, because I was already late, I could've accepted that, been ok with it, and proceeded normally.

Another small detail to this, last night I went to my folks' house on the coast of Lake Superior with a small hope of seeing some eagles out there. There weren't any around. Then I took a sauna and came home. I slept through the alarm because my body was so relaxed from the sauna, osit, and then ultimately as a result, I did see an eagle.

What a strange world.

Eagles are quite phenomenal animals, thanks for sharing JonnyRadar.
I always liked eagles since the time I saw the first one when in my grandfather's garden. They were coming there for pray, mostly chicken I think. When I was very young I spent a lot of time imagining that I was Flying like eagles, seeing like eagles :)

Speaking about driving, It happened to me like 3 or 4 times that I have a companion bird (I don't know witch one is) flying at the same speed one meter away from my window for minutes while I was on the Highway doing 120 as normal. It's such a sensation! It's samller then an eagle but has about the same shape ?? don't know witch one is it ...

I'm glad you got your chance to see what you may have otherwise not seen ;)

I think you got the message loud and clear! :)

I also agree, just take it as a message from the universe or yourself, trying to tell you something. I believe for the most part that synchronicity happens for a reason and not just a coincidence(s). I still have my number sightings mostly the number 22, cant really figure out what its meaning, or if its just a pure coincidence. Thank you for sharing your story. :)

Thanks for sharing, I remember the eagles in the steep mountains in my homeland magnificent
in their fly. I find very meaninful your encounter with this huge bird.

Hi, JonnyRadar:
Your story reminds me of a time when I was in the desert near Reno, NV.
I heard a noise like when you put cardboard on a turnig bicycle wheel.
It seemed very loud and I could not find the source.
Looking up I saw a pair of eagles; they must have been pretty close to me.
What does it mean?
I have no idea.

Very very interesting how our 2D friends can almost create calming emotion within us.

A few months ago I was driving home in the snow and didn't think I was going to make it. (My car isn't good in the snow) All sorts of things were running through my mind, what if I crash, what if I get stuck who will I call...I was halfway home and very tense when all of a sudden a family of deer ran across the street right infront of my car. One of the deer stopped and looked back at my car. This left me with the feeling of - you are not alone, relax so what if you get stuck you can walk, you can make it take it easy. I don't know how to explain it but after I saw the deer the tension was released and I made it home relaxed. Funny how animals can do that to us.
