Karaoke machine

I'd like to buy a karaoke machine but I don't know exactly what to look for.

Ideally, I would like that this appliance could be plugged on the TV too. It would be a lot easier to read the words.

And utopianly it would be great if it could harmonize the voice at the output.

I have seen a couple of links on a couple of threads but I don't know if it is possible to plug them on the TV.

So any advice would be appreciated.

And where is the best place to buy karaoke CDs? Amazon?????

There is karaoke software that you can download from the internet to your computer. Then you can run a HDMI
cord from the computer to the TV. Saves buying another machine. Some karaoke software is free, then you pay for the songs you want, like Sing Magic, and others like Kara Fun charge a subscription fee. If you don't necessarily need the guidance of the karaoke machine, you can buy the karaoke version (music and backing vocals) from iTunes.

What we do over here is connect the laptop to the tv, and connect microphones to the speakers of the tv, and search for karaoke versions of songs on youtube. There are loads.

We did something similar at our last karaoke session. There's a lot to be said for variety and special requests that you can get from YouTube.

I got recently from a friend Ultrastar Deluxe _http://ultrastardx.sourceforge.net/usdx-downloads/usdx/ it's an open source karaoke program for PC, Linux and Mac, you can create your own songs and many are available with a creative common license.
