Killing insects

Here is the scoop. I have noticed that visitor in my apartment, accidentally put his shoes over a roach damaging it. It can not move now, but he is still alive.

Don't laugh, but is it going to be STS if I take it out of "misery" and kill it completely, or shall I let him die naturally ? Thing is... I do not feel comfortable killing anything... But in cases like this... I don't know...

Like I've said, I care about well being of insects also, don't want to hurt them. Not to mention I made a friends with a fly this summer, whom I was smoking a *J* together sometimes, who did not have a problem landing on my "open" finger-toe, just like one of these trained eagles you see in movies (I know that this statement alone will be a sufficient case to lock me up in mental institution... )

In such cases, I usually say to the insect, "Conciousness...leave your body as I am about to terminate your earthly existence." Then I put it out of its misery. Conciousness is what would feel pain. The body, without it, is a electro/chemical machine.

Had a similar story with a fly...Caught it and released it outside my front door three times. Returned every time. Somehow it knew of the little gap on the bottom of the door. Made me laugh. Told the fly he could stay as long as he wanted but not to touch my beer. He left a couple of days later.

Yeah, I did that yesterday. "Talked" to the roach and wished him farewell, before I have terminated him.

I find some insects to be quite "sociable". I think my apartment now is a sleepover place for lady bugs & milkweed bugs, when spring comes and sun hits windows they are all over the place :) I am planning to make friends with spiders next...
