I wasn't sure where to post, but this area seemed appropriate. Over the past 2 weeks my body has been fighting off some manner of infection. I have a decent immune system, so it was business as usual for me; I carried on with life as if I wasn't ill. Two days ago (Sunday), I started coughing something fierce. Then yesterday, I got sent home from work because the coughing was out of control.
I googled my symptoms and came to the conclusion that I may have croup. My wife was begging me to go to the hospital, to get an antibiotic. I refused; I stubbornly insisted that all I needed was rest and water.
So, I slept yesterday and last night, and drank a lot of water.
This morning, I felt 50% better. My stomach is very sore from coughing and I still have mucus, but I FEEL better.
Am I getting to know what's best for my machine, or did I get lucky? I am inclined to believe the former. But the latter is entirely possible. ;)

I might add that it took a lot of willpower not to go to the Emergency Room. Something "in" me was telling me, very convincingly, to drink more water and lie down. I recall stories of Gurdjieff running a temperature and being very ill yet going on with his day to day activities as if nothing was amiss. I attempt to live the same way, because I want to master my machine. That can come through diet, through EE, through the way I think and feel, and also through stubbornly refusing to let my mind submit to my body. It should be the other way around.

But sometimes enough is enough, as I found out yesterday.

I always have a bottle of N-Acetyl Cysteine in the house for coughing or any kind of lung congestion.
