Knowledge stories

Hello all,

After digging into some of the introductory material I've learned somewhat about the project of objective knowledge. I would love to read about stories people have had about their encounters with objective knowledge and how that came about for them. Socrates said, "knowledge is the midwife of the intellect," and I think this, and the resulting dialogues written by Plato, is a well organized story about objective knowledge, but it didn't (I don't think) contain this notion of grasping he subjective experience of the object, which is very intriguing and (I am bashful to say it) befuddling to me. Please, share!

Have you had a chance to read The Wave series yet? If not, it will answer many questions that you may have. You can read it online for free here, or you can purchase the books from Red Pill Press in the US or from Pilule Rouge in France or through Amazon. These books were written by Laura Knight-Jadczyk, the owner of the forum. She has written many more books, all well researched over many years.

I second Nienna’s suggestion about the wave.

If by objective knowledge you mean knowledge of reality, there’s nothing better than networking and reading nonfiction (and even then some fiction which contains emotional truths like the recommended romance reading). Whole treads geared to certain topics here testify to this.

If my objective knowledge you mean some kind of insight obtained from mystical experience, sometimes that often just appears as the former case when someone has a lot of knowledge and awareness. If it doesn’t, then the odds are that the experience is quite subjective, and was chiefly to be of benefit more to the person who had the experience. Descriptions of mystical experiences can be found in lots of biographies, including books by Castaneda recommended here. They’re like sand. They tend not to be of much use outside the person experiencing them. As sources of knowledge they are not always reliable, since they can be filtered by wishful thinking and false knowledge, or driven by STS forces.
