It seems not all the BRICS countries would have enough gold reserves to back their own currency and having a BRICS currency (like the failing EURO with each country answering to unelected Brussels) would amount to giving up sovereignty. To who? China?🇨🇳 Russia?🇷🇺 or a new unelected group of overseers? 😳 how’s that EURO going?
The original Gold standard was scrapped to make way for what we have now being used by governments. The creation of money through debt and no interest in ever paying it back - no limits to the money supply!
The lack of money supply being the problem with the gold standard. So the powers that be said. 🙄
Each solution creates the new problem.
Reckless government spending would need to be addressed before any solutions in monetary policy may actually work.
Sadly it seems the next solution involves digital currency and watching and taxing every possible transaction.
It is not the currencies that are the issue! It is our corrupt government and politicians and their wide-eyed spending habits.
Also if Gold was to become the standard again. Be sure that capital controls will be implemented which will ban you and I from owning any bullion products and a possible reduction in Gold price would ensue. Resulting in a capped price eventually to save the governments new position.
Invest in old collector coins if you are interested in a safe gold position.
