"Le Grand Lunaire"

A Disturbance in the Force
Since 1950s numerous authors, including Gino Sandri (whom I personally do not trust due to his connection to the "Priory of Sion" hoax) alleged that Fulcanelli was connected to the mysterious sect called "Le Grand Lunaire", run by Gaston Sauvage. Ostensibly, a number of people from Fulcanelli's circle (like Champagne, Canseliet, etc.) have been members of it, and Champagne designed the group's symbol, the Baphomet ring. The mythology of the sect was very bizarre, encompassing the writings of Fulcanelli, as well as those of Crowley, Hermetic Brotherhood of Luxor, right-wing synarchist Schwaller de Lubicz, etc. It has also been suggested that Champagne's mysterious death was the result of his breakup with the group.
