2 Lebanese soldiers killed trying to defuse cluster bombs
BEIRUT (CNN) -- Two Lebanese soldiers were killed and one was wounded when they were trying to defuse cluster bombs in the village of Aita al-Jabal in southern Lebanon on Wednesday, the Lebanese army's chief spokesman Brig. Gen. Saleh Hajj-Suleiman told CNN.
Six Lebanese soldiers have been killed since the army began deploying in southern Lebanon on August 17. Forty-six have been killed since July 12, the start of the 34-day war between Israel and Hezbollah, according to Hajj-Suleiman. (Posted 6:49 a.m.)
