Gigantic light "angel" over Lyngenfjorden
One could have thought the heavens had opened and an angel taken the trip down to Havnnes Trading Point Friday afternoon.
Hege Jakobsen captured the light show on her cell phone while crossing Lyngenfjorden.
- It was really weird. I was on my way from Havnnes in a boat, I was going with my 3 of my kids to a meeting across the fjord. I thought about how nice and quiet it was on the fjord, so I turned and looked to see if I could take a picture of Havnnes. When I saw towards Lyngen I saw this light. "My God that looks like an angel!" I thought.
It was so dark around it, and the light fell so pretty, Jakobsen says.
After publishing the picure on the Facebook page of Havnnes Handelssted, the response hasn't been lacking. In 12 hours 222 persons have "liked" the picture, and Jakobsen have been getting messages from far and away.
- One of our regular visitors from Germany thought the picture was descriptive of Havnnes - "An angel in a heavenly place!", Jakobsen smiles.
Havnnes Handelsted is a historical trading place, and lives by renting out cabins and rowing boats in modern times. Jakobsen runs the store there, and is a tourist hostess - among other things.
- I have to laugh about it. I've gotten an incredible amount of positive feedback on this picture - I find it really uplifting! It goes to show what one can observe if one takes the time to lift the head in a hectic normal day."
