The Force is Strong With This One
Hey, all!
Back in December, I was brimming with poetic energy but was having trouble keeping myself accountable and adhering to any kind of structure needed to focus on my writing pursuits. So, on a whim at some ungodly early morning hour right before Christmas, I signed up for a "writing challenge" for the low, low price of $50 through a publishing company called Bookleaf Publishing. The challenge portion was to complete 21 poems in 21 days, and if successful, they would publish the works through their company as well as make it available on Amazon.
If I'd had the presence of mind to do ANY sort of vetting at all, I would have learned that this sort of "challenge" is only slightly north of Scamville, but... at the end of the day -- legitimate or not -- it got me to buckle down and get a bit more serious about my poetic pursuits, so I can't say I regret anything but the ding to my bank account (which in all honesty has seen much heftier charges for much sillier pursuits).
Long story slightly truncated, the book -- which was completed MUCH later than promised by aforementioned "publishing company" -- is finally available for purchase. I just got my copy today, and, well... the formatting on the cover is terrible. The wording is egregiously off-center to the point that the poor little "r" at the end of the title is cut in half. So, aesthetically, it is very much lacking.
However, since a few of my poems contain spiritual/esoteric themes, and since some of them were written after my discovery of this lovely network and therefore cannot help but have been influenced on some level by the Cassiopaean material, I figured I'd post a link in case anyone is interested:
A Convergence of Tributaries
I don't know why the Amazon listing doesn't show the book cover and just says No Image Available, but... that's probably for the best, considering the above. Anyway, thanks for checking it out, or at least reading this meandering explanation of my little impulsive triumph.
