"Malaysia Creates Team to Track 'Bigfoot'"

"KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia - A southern Malaysian state will appoint a team of scientists and experts to hunt for a "Bigfoot" beast after the reported sighting of three giant human-like creatures, officials said Thursday."

"Johor Chief Minister Abdul Ghani Othman said the state will form an official Bigfoot-tracking team in a serious bid to find evidence of such a beast following the reported sightings late last year in the Endau Rompin National Park forest."
(...)
This 'serious bid to find evidence' seems lacking in sincerity, and not that serious. On January 5th the following article states:

"Tourism sector in Malaysia's Johor state plans to cash in on 'Bigfoot' fever"
(...)
"Johor Tourism Action Council general manager Abdul Jabar Tahir said no plans have been made yet on how the story could be used to attract tourists to the state."

So perhaps they have developed a plan: create a fasade of a scientific expidition in name of the Holy God of Marketing and Tourism. This expidition seems no more than a part of their marketing plan.

Perhaps sooner than we think, there might be no need for pseudo-expiditions searching for bigfoot.
