This flood did not make the national news really, and if it's true what they said
- that it is the most expensive non-hurricane disaster in US history -
this lack of attention may be sort of an insult to those living through it.

It really IS unbelievable that they are not talking about this! I guess it goes counter the global warming propaganda or they are afraid that people will start going biblical or something.

It doesn't help that simultaneously their are oil spills, false flags in Times Square, and ridiculous immigration issues in Arizona. But yeah, the destruction of a city seems to be getting swept under the rug.

Maybe the news channels do not want to cover it all at once packed into 1 hour news show. Disasters are huge cash cows for media and news coporations and have to be milked aptly.

It does seem that the networks are focusing on stories that were set up to be distractions. I agree fully Heimdallr, the Arizona immigration issue/racial profiling law is a good example. So many people are wrapped up in these issues and not seeing what is really transpiring.

By design, I suppose.

I was in the Green Hills area of Nashville when the rains of Sunday, the second of May hit early morning and continued almost unabated until mid afternoon. The very heavy rains on Saturday had already totally saturated the ground. The rain on Sunday was the most intense rain I ever remember seeing, and I'm in my early '50's and have been to many places. It was "big 'ol fat rain" as well, as Forest Gump would say.

I was away from my own home. I found out later that my neighborhood had been a lake. Water did not get inside my home.

The damage is severe in places but some flooding was experienced almost everywhere. I guess I was much luckier than some.

I did not see the extent of the flooding myself until I saw it on tv - at that point I was shocked.

It's a beautiful day in Nashville today.

Great YouTube vid selection at SOTT btw!
