Meditate - Meditation Timer - my creative app.. act

I would like to share with you my last creative act I developed.

I would be very grateful for all of the words of critics and positives as well ;)
Tell me if you like it and even maybe what you would like to add/change/remove in app like that.

So, it's higlhy custamizable, programmable and userfriendly meditation timer with a bunch of settings that user can use to personalize it best for needed purposes.
It can be also used as a sleep helper [mode Fall Asleep].

Short brief of features:
Directly after application starts we can quickly and easily choose between two main modes, Single and highly customizable Plan mode.
On the main activity you can swipe between 3 meditation categories:
a) Meditation
b) Meditation with affirmation
c) Fall Asleep (sleep booster)

User has possibilities to define any amount of meditation Plans he wants with that contains any needed amount of steps. In each of them it is possible to set the category of meditation and it's duration (hours:minutes). After completing each next step, the next one is load automaticly. Till the last one, then the whole Plan can be reset and start from begining, or be completely redited.

Application has also a bunch of settings such as, preparation time, time after sound should be repeated, quieting each next sound, choosing own sound file from phonoe storage and setting the time of everydays notifications, etc.

After completing meditation there is possibility to save a note, which can be further freely viewed or edited in History of all previous meditations. History itself contains infos like date, start and end time, category of meditation, title of affirmation, title of the plan, number of step etc. Each can be deleted if user wants that.

In Statistics you can look on your progress on the scalable and scrollable column charts. Period of 7, 30, 90, 365 days ago can be set. Or after click 'Show All' we will see the meditations since the first one ever started (and still not deleted by user) till today.

I am aware of that because of abundance and diversity specifications and companies that produce devices with Android system, on some of them can apear errors, that I do not experience for example on my own phone (HTC One S btw.). Also because of this reason I very ask you for help with testing the application.

May i ask what are your intentions to join this forum? Because if you log in here to promote Apps then you are in the wrong forum! What we do here is research! If you want to help and learn in some way here then read the material we discuss first.
 
Hi Pablo

Nice layout you got there. I've been toying with the idea of making a meditation app for the 'local' relaxation/ meditation program EE , the major fault is that apps mainly run on smartphones which are a major source of EMF Exposure, so the aware meditator would never use it (at least for meditation) - kind of self-defeating. Though if busy (and not so aware) people would tune in and relax with Éiriú-Eolas via an app store, that wouldn't be so bad. Also I think Ipads can shut down wifi reception? kindle fire (android) at least has that option, so there are healthier channels for meditation apps.

A critique of your setup I would say to be the affirmations, which in that form only serve to fluff up the lies that one holds about self and the world. An objective prayer or meditation seed would make for a more helpful application.

Interesting post. My app doesnt require internet connection so wifi can be turned off.
I do not exactly understand what you mean about affirmations in app. People uses affirmations all the time. Why it's bad idea?

Sure you can ask. I read Laura's transcripts since something like a 10 years. I also many times read this forum but never joined. It happens in time that many big changes in my life have a place right now. One of them is also creation of my app. I decided to join for both of reasons. To share and learn knowledge and by the way maybe something will notice my app also, which can be interesting for people in this forum couse of the topic it is about.

Yes but you could use it with the phone at least 2 meters away (it would have to have a good sound tought) and this kind of app would be some kind of good idea for the rest of the people who want to try meditation for the first time i guess

Well that's pretty weird. I kind of think of meditation as being an escape from the stresses of technology, cell-phones, computers, emails, alarm clocks etc., but others might enjoy using it.

Well done on building it anyway, it must have taken quite some time and effort and skills.

I like an idea I read somewhere that you shouldn't try and meditate for longer periods than you find fairly easy, be that 12 minutes, 25 minutes, 45 minutes, or however long. That way, when you stop meditating, you will still be feeling good, and it will be easier to meditate again the next time, in a kind of positive-reinforcement way, whereas if you try to meditate for such a length of time that it becomes something of a strain, you might not feel so inclined to meditate again, and feel negatively-reinforced about it.

Does that make any sense, or would you agree with that?
 
Hmm, yes I agree with you, really good point. Thanks for that. I haven't look at it this way before. It seems be better to meditate like 15 min and then try extend this state after as long as we can have our mind calm. Rather than meditate like a 60min. Nowadays world probably runs too fast for that. I will consider that in reorganizing the default steps for default plan in my app.
