There was a widely seen meteor on the east coast of the United States on Saturday Jan 30th. I happened to be flying a small airplane around New Jersey and caught the meteor on my GoPro without even knowing it while coming in to land. It wasn't until I had gotten home and looked at the video that I even knew there was a meteor. I completely missed it with my own eyes!
Here is a video of the event. The meteor appears in the beginning.

Nice catch. Thanks for sharing.

This came in this morning. Wonder if there related to the other Booms and the increased meteor activity currently on the east coast.

1-Felt like a sonic boom- I am from Vancouver Island and have experienced many tremors/quakes there, but I thought this was an explosion- one loud bang and not much shaking but one jolt- this is the third one since Jan 1'16 too.

2-A loud noise was heard here Jan 15, unsure of the time between 5-7 pm local time. Was that a small quake? A loud boom was also heard in Leonardville area a few days ago around the 5-6 pm time frame

3-Unusual for this area - didn't realize it was an earthquake - thought something collapsed!

4-The initial vibrations were followed by a major boom resembling a gas explosion

5-I thought a fishing boat engine had exploded on the bay

6-Felt and sounded as though something heavy like a snowplow was dragging across the road, except it went on for a while, and there was no snow on the road to warrant plowing..

7-Felt like something hit the house

Thanks for sharing, i think it relates to the fireball that was seen in the many parts of the US North-East coast:

[...]Scores of witnesses in northern Virginia, Maryland, and the District spotted a brilliant fireball dashing through the sky around 6:17 p.m. Saturday evening.

The fireball, defined as a very bright meteor, entered the region from the north according to reports. It was seen all over the Northeast U.S. and even southeast Canada. Specifically, Capital Weather Gang obtained reports from Baltimore, New Jersey, New York, Michigan, and Ontario via Twitter.

Observers described it as "huge" and "very bright" but then noted it fizzled, disintegrating into fragments.[...]
