Found a forum discussing a very bright meteor over Germany on 8th of January this year. Haven't been able to find any articles in English on the sighting. Any German speaking members care to do a rough translation of what's been discussed? Thanks.

They are discussing the location where the meteor came down. The meteor was seen by people from southern Germany and Switzerland.

This picture is made from Switzerland and the user suggests, that the meteor came down over southern Germany:

One user calculated the location with two shootings (intersections):

Gais (47.383N,9.483E)
beginning: 338.116° (altitude 36.778°)
end: 7.42° (altitude 11.24°)

Fornach (48.04N,13.41E)
beginning: 276.6° (altitude 11.45°)
end: 282.975° (altitude 4.48°)

He came to the conclusion that the meteor came down there:
