Hi all,
dreams are one of the most unknown field in any branch of studies, being scientific, religious or philosophical . Depending on people belief, religion, faith, mental and psychological state, a dream can have an unlimited amount of meaning and interpretation.
Quote from Zadius Sky:
Their are dreams that fade away the next day. Their are dreams that are so "vivid" that they stick with you for years. Their are also dreams that although vivid,
keep fading away with time until one day, a trigger, being a word, a phrase or perhaps a picture or image, can bring them back with full force.
Please allow me to recount one of those dream, and how it was "triggered" back. Any interpretation or thought about it are welcome !
I have just started reading Amazing Grace from Laura. In chapter 4, Laura retell us a dream that she has at a young age. This dream triggered an old
dream of mine which came back so clear with details even after a Year (?) or two. There is one big difference between Laura's dream and mine...
As I just finish read those lines, I just froze. Pictures of burning cities, scary running peoples swept before my eyes like a movie. there was smoke everywhere, fire, devastated cities like after an earthquake. I remember running in the middle of the mass, holding my daughters while everything around us was falling apart. The difference in the dream was that we weren't running because of huge reptiles, but because of a meteorite shower...
Huge fireballs were everywhere to be seen. Now, the "funny" thing about all this was that, although it was clear that we were hit by meteorite, people around me kept screaming that we were under attack!! Under attack ? by whom ? Who can possibly use meteorites as WMD ? and How ?
Well, that's how by reading Laura account, that an old dream of mine was triggered back. Now if you consider that at the time i had this dream, I was not yet a member of this Forum. Since then, I've read a lot of materials here , on SOTT and elsewhere. I've came across many references about Comet, asteroid, cataclysm, fireball but none of those triggered back my dream.
Quote from Zadius Sky:
"State of Knowledge/understanding of a dream"...awareness ?
Although the above quote sound interesting, This will be a tedious task to do.
I can easily understand that at the time of my dream, my interpretation would have be totally different as of today. A new reasoning and approach will be needed each time we may think that our knowledge/understanding is different then the last time. I'm no expert on dream but that's a lot of data to be playing with.
Thank you all

The fact of the matter is that there are numerous theories out there about dreams and gigantic piles of research data and their possible connection to reality. And, unlike "dream forums" where I've seen people take things at face value, here it takes discernment to tell "which is which" in regards to said sources. There is truly no single book that accurately elucidate the dream symbolism.

Laura, Amazing GraceMy dream was clear, and I struggled to deal with concepts that were far beyond the capacity of my child’s mind.
In the dream, I saw the sky full of smoke and flames as if cities were burning. People were screaming and running down the streets in terror of huge reptiles stomping all over the place, silhouetted against the glowing red smoke pouring up from the landscape around me.

There are a lot of threads on this forum where people have posted their personal dreams. I think that if there really is something objective happening in dreams, meaning that people have certain types of dreams almost universally, then it should be possible to find out for a fact whether this is what's occurring.
To do this I think the statistical methods used in psychology could be used, although I have some reservations about how this should be done. The idea is to look for similarities in thoughts, feeling and actions which people have reported, then we need to ask them some questions about what they think was happening, and what their state of knowledge/understanding of dreams was, whether true or false, when they had the dream.
I think using a method like this would show, given that there is enough data over as many different people as possible, whether there is something objective about certain types of dreams. And then from this, I think it might be possible to identify the objective source or sources from which these dreams arise.
