I watched a science program called "Découvertes" yesterday and it was about Microbiota - New organ.

It was totally fascinating to watch it and to realize the importance of the Microbiota for your heath.

The description of the TV show was (it is a french Canadian show):

Ce petit monde invisible à l’œil nu qui vit partout sur nous et à l’intérieur de nous. Il est constitué de milliers d’espèces de bactéries différentes dont la composition change selon son emplacement : la bouche, la gorge et le nez, le vagin, ou le tube digestif. Ces bactéries surpassent en nombre les cellules du corps humain, dans un ratio de 10 pour 1. Découverte nous convie à un voyage dans cet univers intérieur méconnu.

My translation:

This small invisible world to the naked eye that lives everywhere on us and inside us. It consists of thousands of different bacterial species whose composition changes according to its location: the mouth, throat and nose, vagina or gastrointestinal tract. These bacteria outnumber the cells of the human body, in a ratio of 10 to 1. Découverte takes us on a journey into the unknown inner world.
