Mother with irritable bowel syndrome

My Mother is suffering from irritable bowel syndrome, and I will use the information of the Leaky Gut Thread to treat her.
I suspect that since she lost liquids, she is deficient in zync, potassium, and maybe is suffering from an overgrowth of Candida albicans, due to the lack of good bacteria.
My question is if I can proceed with the treatment as outlined by Mark Hyman, in that thread, or anything more recent was discovered?

Read "Live Without Bread" thread and search the forum for "fiber menace" - there's a website about it. Mainly, all meat diet with only moderate to small amounts of fat, healing the gut as described in "Primal Body, Primal Mind", and gradually building fats up moderately.

No need to adress directly Serotonin deficencies?
Primal body, Primal Mind, is another book, right? Gonna read the thread.
The tough part will be to convince her to enter an all meat diet and that fiber harms her health...
Thanks Laura.
