Muslim spiritual leader Shaykh Nazim passes away
World famous Muslim scholar Shaykh Nazim al-Haqqani has passed away at the age of 92 in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.

World Bulletin / News Desk

World famous Muslim scholar Shaykh Nazim al-Haqqani has passed away at the age of 92 in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.

Shaykh Nazim had been receiving intense care since April 17 when he rushed from his home in Lefke to the Near-East University Hospital in Lefkosa (Nicosia) after suffering from respiratory problems and heart failure.

Shaykh Nazim was the leader of the Naqshibandi-Haqqani Sufi order which traces its roots back to 11th-century Sufi Saint Abdul Qadir Jilani and 13th-century mystical poet Jalaluddin Rumi.

He inherited the leadership of the order from Shaykh Abdullah Fa'izi ad-Daghestani after he passed away in 1973 and has millions of followers all over the world.

Having lived in Turkey, Syria and the United Kingdom, Shaykh Nazim then settled in his hometown in the TRNC. He was fluent in English, Turkish, Arabic and Cypriot Greek.

Below is a write up of his incredible life. I have pasted a section that I would appreciate feedback on as it appears very enlightening as to what can happen in an STO way. I visited Shaykh Nazim quite a few times and stayed in the women's house in Lefke a couple of times too. My mother and brother were also acquainted with him. He will be very missed and Lefke won't feel the same without him being there.

“During the prayers time however no one was willing to go upto the minaret in order to
call for adhan as the planes were dropping a lot of bombs over that area. I however
went upto the minerat and called adhan from the minaret. As I was calling Allahu Akbar,
Allahu Akbar I witnessed a most extraordinary and amazing sight. There were many
people below me in and around the mosque lying down and seeking shelter from the
bombs. I could see everything from the top of the minerat. The planes were mercilessly
bombing the area. I saw to my astonishment that there were many angels(malaikas) who
were catching hold of the bombs as they were being dropped and throwing them away
out of the area. I was seeing this as I am seeing you now. The malaikas were collecting
the bombs and throwing them back to where they came from."

Since you asked for feedback, before thinking "what can happen in a STO way", my question would be "did what was reported really happen". Some magical beings were collecting the bombs and throwing them "back to where they came from" would mean the bombs were thrown back into the planes they were dropped from or some other place? While common human beings may not be able to see magical beings, bombs are a different thing. Was such a miracle of bombs being mysteriously misdirected reported by others?

Keeping such details aside, the question comes that if the magical beings were so powerful, could they not have used other (even less spectacular) methods to prevent the destruction? Why was it necessary to put up a show apparently to be witnessed by this religious leader alone - assuming no one else saw what he saw.

Thanks Obyvatel. I must admit it is hard for me to get my head around this, like you say, that is why I requested feedback. I suppose such a trained sufi sheikh would not lie, due to the nature of their beliefs and devotion. However, as he was the only person who supposedly saw, witnessed and reported the incident we will have no way of verifying or clarifying what was said/written.

Maybe the Sheikh who was his teacher did have special protection, the C's have said Laura has a certain protection too, so maybe it was due to the proximity of his teacher that could possibly have caused this to happen, if it at all did?

I will keep it in the back of my mind should because should we come across any similar unusual happenings then they won't seen so strange. Also I could go through the site and check for any other unusual happenings reported. I also have quite a few of Sheikh Nazim's books I bought last time I was there - not that I have read them all yet - even one on Princess Diana. At present I have too many tabs open to digest on my current work themes eg The Work/Cognitive science etc.

I enjoyed reading your last thread re risk and decision making.

Assuming the witnesses are telling the truth, and it's not simply a hallucination, it could be a vectoring operation, where signs and wonders are used to lock people into particular belief patterns, like in The Eigth Tower. It's also possible that the incredible luck or provenance behind the high survivorship could have manifested to the individual as angels acting. Interesting account, whatever the case may be. :)

I would speculate that he had a vision. Visions can have different sources. But whatever the source may be, visions may not necessarily match with the facts. So equating a vision with material reality is problematic.

The source of the vision could have been the Sheik's own unconscious psyche where the angels seemingly protected the mosque. and threw back bombs where they came from. It could be a mirror of the Sheik's belief and expectation of higher powers coming to save the mosque and perhaps the unconscious desire of returning the bombs where they came from.

The source of the vision could come from higher sources where some protection may have been in place. This energetic protection could be transformed to an image in the Sheik's mind based on his beliefs. It could also be a demonstration of "proof" to the Sheik.

The fact is that the mosque was saved. This could be due to chance - not all buildings in an area get destroyed in bombing campaigns. Also, in such times people (at least in some parts of the world I am familiar with) tend to congregate in places of worship seeking divine protection as well as social support. It could even be a conscious decision on the part of the bombers to not drop a bomb on a religious place . At least such conventions of not attacking people in religious places have long been in existence in human history and were sometimes honored by warring parties.

It may not be possible to determine what truly transpired. The above are all speculations about different possibilities. IMO it is useful to keep these possibilities in mind so that we do not favor one particular possibility (STO protection) over others without adequate reason.
