My Music - Agape

Sentenza

Jedi
Hello everybody !

As I am a musician and I composed a few songs in recent years, I wanted to share them with you.
The lyrics were written some time ago now, at a time when my knowledge of things was much less extensive.
They are sometimes a bit naive... but I like it anyway... :halo:

I hope you will like it.
Do not hesitate to leave me your comments.

It's pretty simple, it's not very technical... but it comes from me, from my heart

Good listening...

The first song that I composed, it is that one. It was almost 20 years ago...

I still love it, even if it is a little naive ...
Its name is "Le chant des autochtones" (The indigenous singing)

Here is the lyrics translated in english...

The indigenous Singing

In the fields, there is nobody
Cattle graze in peace
But he still resonates
The indigenous singing

On the way to my school
Herbs have invaded everything
No more notebooks, no more glue
The children left

And the towns of our villages
Spectators of the new age
Closing their eyes to see better
This song, this goodbye

In the recesses of my heart
These places have a heat
Vaguely defined
Yet so precise

This song is a lure
An outline of happiness
My child, my misfortune
A remedy for my fear

... And in french

Le chant des autochtones

Dans les champs, y’a plus personne
Les troupeaux paissent en paix
Mais toujours il résonne
Le chant des autochtones

Sur l’chemin de mon école
Les herbes ont tout envahi
Plus d’cahier, plus de colle
Les enfants sont partis

Et les bourgs de nos villages
Spectateurs du nouvel âge
Ferment leurs yeux pour mieux voir
Ce chant, cet au revoir

Dans les replis de mon cœur
Ces lieux ont une chaleur
Aux contours mal définis
Et pourtant, tellement précis

Cette chanson, c’est un leurre
Une esquisse du bonheur
Mon enfant, mon malheur
Un remède pour ma peur

That was nice Sentenza, thank you for sharing. Quite inspiring as I have taken up learning the guitar, although I am not quite singing just yet. Your song has a Beetles-esque flavour to it.

Thanks for your comment, ashu. ;)
I'm glad you could find it inspiring.

I like your reference to the Beatles, this is a group that I love. :)

Continue your learning. You'll see, it comes quickly if we train a little every day. ;)

Personally, I am learning piano now and it's a real challenge. But it's coming! ;)

... And here is my second song ...
Its name is "Destinée" (Destiny).

My kids like it, it makes them want to run around the table... :)

Here is the lyrics (translated):

Destiny

Run, run towards your destiny
Your prefabricated destiny
This glow into the abyss
The depths of humanity
Does it merit that we waste our time
On the roads too crowded?

The wind blows and does not remain
Always fled strides
Frightened by the prospect
Storm warning in the sky
On a final stop
In a lull with deadly taste

He who runs away over there
Without even looking where he is going
It is not the wind that fled
It's not a wolf in the night
It's not you, it's not him
It's not me, then who is it?

Me I look the desert move
Emptiness I try to catch
But the desert no moving ever
And the emptiness does not fill me
What does it take for my heart opens
In a gigantic roar?

... and in french...

And there is a cover... a song originally composed by a french songwriter, Georges Brassens, and called "Au bois de mon coeur" (In the wood of my heart).
Greame Allwright has made a cover of this song, called "Friends like evergreen". And I made arrangements on this song... and this is the result...

Friends like evergreen

In the forest, flowers may grow and seen, flowers may grow and seen
Friends grows in my heart, like evergreen, friends like evergreen

In the fun wood, flowers may grow and seen, flowers may grow and seen
Friends grows in my heart, like evergreen, friends like evergreen

In the black wood, flowers may grow and seen, flowers may grow and seen
Friends grows in my heart, like evergreen, friends like evergreen

In the dark wood, flowers may grow and seen, flowers may grow and seen
Friends grows in my heart, like evergreen, friends like evergreen

Another song : Pour rien (For nothing)

When we'll get through this dark valley, perhaps we could live ... for nothing ... :halo:

in english...

For nothing

When I will finally
Freed from my air, my refrains
When I will finally
Freed from my chains and my brakes

I will have nothing more to say
Or nothing to describe
I'll be at the end of the road
I will be able to live for nothing

When I will stretch my cheeks
At bottom of hole, I envy the crazy
When I shall take
My bullet as my finest ally

Refrain

When at last I will be
Dust and ashes
All old, defeated all

Refrain
