My Trip to a Holistic Pet Care Center

@SevenFeathers and Ysus.......Believe me I've tried everything. I open the 4 antibiotic capsules and mix them with enough peanut butter to mask the flavor. Bacon and peanut butter are the only 2 things he will eat consistently. He is a picky and very careful eater and manages to spit the pills out of most everything I hide them in. I can get a few down him stuck in balls of ground beef raw but dang if he doesn't eat the meat and spit most of the pills out. He does not eat food consistently enough to open all the pills and dump the powder into his food and will go a whole day without eating at all sometimes...so the challenge of getting 32 pills in him daily is quite stressful and daunting. I will have to have this holistic vet prioritize these pills for me so I can at least try for the most important ones first. If all this was happening with my previous dog Ellie Mae, there would be no problem because she inhaled her food without chewing and always wanted more. Charlie is completely opposite!!...thanks for your thoughts...

Charlie has a mind of his own! What about mixing the powder into a liquid (broth? milk?), then perhaps putting it into a syringe and squirting into his mouth? I know you get just one chance before the biting starts! And now, he's probably getting suspicious of you.

Thank you all for your kind words, thoughts, and suggestions on the matter of Charlie. When the holistic doc studies his DNA in a few weeks time I will be happy to share the results with you and anything she says that may be of interest.

Hi All.......I want to give an update on Charlie and this interesting healing process we've undertaken for those who are interested. It has been over 3 weeks now since Charlie started all these herbal meds and so it was time for his second DNA test on the same samples I brought in originally.

I purposefully have not had any contact with the office since my first visit to bring home all the meds. The reason being I wanted to hear the results of this second test without them knowing anything at all about how Charlie has been doing. My thoughts being that if this is supposed to work like they say it does, then THEY should be able to tell me how Charlie is doing!

I got a phone call from their office when they had completed DNA test #2. I was told they had good news and that Charlie has improved greatly according to his DNA and that I was to stop giving 4 of the meds altogether and drastically reducing the others from 4 pills a day to 1 a day. We talked for near an hour going through all my med bottles to make sure I got all the dose changes straight. Only after all of that did they ask me how Charlie was doing with me here at home.

I was pleased to report that Charlie IS much better. On the third week of all these meds Charlie had a big turnaround. He is now able to hop in the car on his own and go for long walks again. He is no longer constantly itchy and clawing at his ears since I cut out those foods they said he was allergic to. And best of all he has his spunk and spirit back after 4 months of being so ill. He does not have his full range of jumping back but I am hoping for a full recovery eventually. I find it amazing that they were able to prescribe everything Charlie needed to take to get better just from testing his DNA samples and having never seen or met him.

They will do DNA test #3 on those same original samples again in 5 weeks and I am hoping that will be the end of this and meds will be done or at least toned down to a maintenance level.

I still don't understand how his original DNA samples I gave them when Charlie was so sick have changed by test 2 to reflect such improvements but it is true and Charlie is back to near his normal self again which is just amazing after what we've been through these past months. I'm thankful and now have an even greater appreciation for herbal meds than I already had.

I shall see what results the next DNA test brings in 5 weeks and give an update if anyone is interested. Thanks for all your previous comments and support on this matter of Charlie. Much appreciated.
