The Living Force
No one was injured, but Hubby and I were grabbing for phones when we saw a fire engine slide by our house this evening. (About an hour ago) The engine could not make the turn onto the road needed to reach, and in trying to slow down, he basically slid past our driveway onto a small bridge. Once across, the engine was able to turn around and get to the right road, but it didn't look good.
We have 'ice pellets' coming down, and it in the lower 30's, enough to make things icy. Hubby and I can hear the snow plows running now.(Probably from the fire truck letting them know it was bad. This is generally the only way we get our road plowed.)
Our roads intersect at 90 degree angles, and all of them curve out of line of sight. The road the fire engine was trying to reach has a drop off into a ditch that tends to collect cars this time of year.
I know a lot of folks are going to be traveling this year by car, please be careful out there.....
