I recently read Secrets of the Soil by Peter Tomkins and Christopher Bird, authors of The Secret Life of Plants. It starts out where the Secret Life of Plants left off with an update on what was happening in the world of Biodynamic Farming at that time (1998) and has chapters on many other interesting approaches to farming and working in harmony with nature. I can't wait to try some of them in my garden next season.
What really intrigued me, and why I'm writing this post, was the chapter on Machelle Wright and Perelandra (_http://www.perelandra-ltd.com). Machelle communicates with what she calls the Devic world or nature spirits.
As it happens, I'm already familiar with that technique and used it years ago for the typical applications of applied kinesiology, testing for food sensitivities and effectiveness of supplements. I went out to the garden and had a wonderful chat with the nature spirits about the garden, the critters, the electric fence (not good) and plans for next year.
Since I don't want gardening advice from random dead dudes, I make sure I'm totally centered and focused and ask at the beginning of each session if I'm talking to the nature spirits. I've found, as Machelle says in the book, that there's certain vibration, a flavor, to the communication though I haven't learned to differentiate between different spirits as she claims to do.
After a few of these sessions I started asking questions about other topics, often getting interesting and unexpected answers. Then this:
Am I talking to Cs? : Yes
Can this channel be used for evil? : Yes
Is this the best way for me to communicate? : No
Should I use a Ouija board? : No
After a few more days it seemed that I was being guided to ask certain questions, giving the conversation more depth than you'd expect from a simple yes/no format, so I asked:
Are you guiding me in the questions I'm asking? : Yes
Am I communication through my subconscious? : No
My body? : Yes
My DNA? : Yes
Late one night I was rather absent mindedly asking about my job situation and their evaluation of different possible opportunities, and I asked if a business deal I'm involved in would come to anything (the answer was no). My immediate reaction was "wow, if they can tell me that they could tell me all sorts of things that could be really valuable!" Uh oh, STS, big red flag. I concentrated fully and asked:
Am I talking to the Cs ? : No
Has any of this conversation been with the Cs? : No
So now I know where the evil part comes in, lack of focus and purpose.
Soon I was asking questions all the time, whenever something came to mind. Then I thought to ask:
Am I inconveniencing you? : Yes (they have since said no on another occasion)
I should ask less questions? : Yes (that answer has been consistent)
So I stopped bothering them all the time, and save the communication for when I'm completely focused. Next year's garden (they tell me there will be a next year and a garden season) will be interesting.

"it's easily done with a form of kinesiology" she explained. "Hold your left little finger to your left thumb. Into that circle thrust the thumb and index of your right hand, pinched together. Then ask a question, any question, providing it can only have a yes or a no for answer. Push up against the circle formed by your left thumb and little finger. If they part, it's no. If they stay firmly shut, it's yes. You'll be amazed how quickly you catch on and how quickly you'll be in touch with the world of elementals all around you."
