Neale Donald Walsch: Agent of God or the NWO?

Does anyone have info. on Neale Donald Walsch.author of Conversations with God in regards to him actually supporting NWO ideologies of one world government, etc? I heard that in one of his books that he suggested we should praise George Bush Sr. for advocating a New World Order. I don't know if this is hearsay or not so I'd like to have this substantianted by someone who has actually read his books and come across such a quote which alledgedly appears in one of the later books of the series. Thanks much!

Dear Neale..Thank you for touching my heart with your books and your lecture in Houston. I was again inspired by the love that shines through in your message. I have two questions.

First, I would like to see the perfection in the miscarriage I had a few months ago. Could you shed some light on why a soul would want to become incarnate in a being, which was a physical presence inside a woman's body for only six weeks, and then perish? What could a soul accomplish as such a being?

And second, as children and adults hear Bible stories, they often hear of a God who is ready to "punish the wicked if they do not change their ways." For example, after learning the story of Jonah, my four-year-old daughter said, "Mom, I would never want to go to Nineveh, because God was going to destroy that city."

How do we explain to our children, this and other Biblical stories that speak of God's vengeance, if they do not square with what we feel in our hearts is true about our God? Thank you for your presence/presents. Love to you, Isabelle, Beaumont, TX

Dear Isabelle..Let's go to the second question (the easier one!) first. I would simply tell my child that the stories in the Bible are not always meant to be understood in absolute, literal terms. In other words, they do not always mean exactly, precisely, what they say.

I would explain that what is meant is not that God actually destroys people or places, but that people, themselves, do, when they do wicked things. I would then describe "wicked" as anything we do which hurts our chances of getting where we say we are going, or of having what we say that we are seeking. For instance, if we are seeking peace and joy and happiness in our lives, it would be "wicked" to hurt and murder others.

I would tell the child that God does not have vengeance, anymore than I, or Grandma or Grandpa, have "vengeance," but that we all only have love, and lovingly share our guidance on how to have a happy life. I would say that sometimes people are afraid of things that they don't have to be afraid of, and that, for some people, God is one of them.

Then I would explain that it was apparently one of those people who was afraid who wrote the words of this Bible story. I would say that people who are not afraid would have written it a different way

Now to your second question. You have asked why a soul would want to become incarnate in a being, which was a physical presence inside a woman's body for only six weeks, and then perish.

First of all, Isabelle, it is not possible for a soul to perish, therefore the question is mis-stated, although I do understand what you mean. It is important, however, for us to be clear on our terms. Souls do not perish. Ever. They never have, and they never will.

Why, then, would a soul come into the body, and then leave it?, you have asked, "What could it accomplish?" Well, perhaps it was seeking to accomplish something not for itself, but for you. Had you thought of that?

Look to see what, if anything, you might have been seeking to accomplish, or what you may have been caused to know again (that is, to remember), or how you may have benefited, from this experience. Also, be willing not to know that right now.

Perhaps it is something that you will be shown, something that will become clear to you, over time. For instance, I can imagine this scenario. Three years passes. Isabelle meets and makes a new friend. They become very close, best girl friends. Then, a year and a half after that, the girlfriend becomes pregnant. She and her husband are so happy.

She invites Isabelle to be the godmother of the coming child. Then...she miscarries. Now she is devastated. She cries and cries and is inconsolable. The doctors and the nurses and the ministers and the family can say nothing that has any real meaning to her. She is aware that they cannot possibly know the depth of her pain, no matter how good their intentions. She begins to think of suicide.

On one desperate night, she turns to Isabelle, who has never shared this particular experience from her own past. Isabelle talks quietly with her friend, bringing an understanding and a wisdom to the space that no one else can. Her friend's life is saved. She is given back to herself.

Isabelle, my dear new friend, often one is so close to the weavings that one cannot see the beauty of the tapestry. But there is beauty, Isabelle, there is beauty. Of this, I can assure you.

All things are perfect in God's world. You AND your child may have had a purpose having nothing to do with either of you. For we are here as messengers to each other, and as partners and co-creators. We are each other's saviors, Isabelle. Just as I would seek to save you now, from your worst thoughts about what has occurred, and your worst ideas about life and God and yourself.

SUMMARY

Acknowledging inspiration can be easier than sharing the rights. That's how God sees it, as illustrated in Zick Rubin's conversation between the Creator (upper case) and the creator (lower case).

And God said unto to Neale: So, Neale, I see that our books are still flying high on the New York Times best seller list.

Neale: Yes, they are, God. Conversations With God, Book 1, has been on the list for a whole year now. It's a real miracle.

God: I'll bet we've sold a million copies already.

Neale: We're way up there, God. I can't thank you enough. Before you started talking to me, I was in terrible shape. I was unhappy -- personally, professionally. and emotionally -- and my life was feeling like a failure on all levels.

God: I know. I've read the book.

Neale: Read it? Geez. you wrote it. Just like I said in Book 2, "On a blank sheet of paper, I would merely write a question -- any question ... usually the first question that came into my head -- and no sooner was the question written than the answer would form in my bead, as if someone were whispering in my ear. I was taking dictation!"

God: I know. I've worked that way a few times before.

Neale: Actually, God, that was our hook. Do you think anyone would pay good money for a book by a total unknown?

God: Not in hardcover, anyway.

Neale: You've still got that great sense of humor. God. As I put it on the web site. "Of course, the 'author' of the book was hardly unknown. And that is what has made the document so intriguing, so powerful." I mean, books about God are a dime a dozen. This one is by God.

God: Neale, I hate to break this to you so abruptly, but I've spoken to a copyright lawyer.

Neale: Why in heaven's name did you do that?

God: With all the talk about copyright in cyberspace. I was feeling out of touch. So let's get to the point: If I wrote the book, why does it say right in the front, "Copyright 1995 by Neale Donald Walsch?" I talked to you, Neale, but I never assigned my copyright.

Neale: But God, you wanted me to have the book published for the good of all humanity, didn't you? You told me, "You will make of this dialogue a book and you will render My words accessible to many people."

God: Sure. I did. But I never said I was giving away my legal rights. It's's an author's rights issue, Neale, and I'm the biggest Author of all.

Neale: I gave you a nice acknowledgment, didn't I? "First and last. and always I want to acknowledge the Source of everything that is in this book, everything that is life -- and of life, itself."

God: Acknowledgments come cheap, Neale. I'd rather have the dramatic rights.

Neale: But wait a minute, God, wasn't I the one who wrote everything down in my own hand?

God: Come on, son, if taking dictation makes you a writer then every court reporter would be Hemingway.

Neale: It was more than that, God. I was also the one who arranged for publication.

God: OK, you were my agent. I'll give you 15 percent.

Neale: That's still not the whole story. True, you gave me the answers, but I came up with the questions on my own.

God: Be real, Neale. How many people bought the book for the questions?

Neale: God. could you wait just a second? I want to call my lawyer...

Neale: OK, God, here's the thing. My lawyer says we wrote the book together, with the intention that our contributions be merged into inseparable or interdependent parts or a unitary whole. So under Sec. 101 of the Copyright Act we are joint authors.

God: Well, that might be OK. We could make it "Copyright 1995 by God and Neale Donald Walsch"' You keep the hardcover English-language rights. I'll take the paperback, second serial, audio, foreign translation and electronic.

Neale: Yes, but there's another problem. There's a new case from the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals (Urantia Foundation v. Maaherra, 114 F.3d 955) that says that the copyright laws were not intended to protect the creations of divine beings.

God: The 9th Circuit doesn't mean much, Neale. When religion is involved, I wait for the Supremes.

Neale: But God, look at it this way. Sure, you inspired all of the world's great authors. But if we can't copyright the stuff, who's going to publish it? Do you want New Age publishing to go down the drain? .... For God's sake, do you?

God: As Jack Benny used to say, "I'm thinking. I'm thinking."

Q. In reading the first "Conversations with God," I recognized much from
James Redfield, Marianne Williamson, Wayne Dyer and other authors. I could
imagine some people saying you simply adapted their materials, then added
your own.

A. They're right. Marianne and James Redfield got it from God, too. It's not
unusual that we say the same thing. And I wouldn't be surprised if some
priest said, "Hell, that's what I told him in a sermon as a boy." God made it
clear that he has been teaching me all along.

Geeze, this guy "talks to God" and makes millions; I talk to "myself in the future" and get nothing but a ration of crapola from every ADL weirdo on the net!!! What is UP with that?

In any event, the very fact that he has not been attacked, that his "work" is so widely disseminated suggests that it is just another product on the shelves of the Devil's supermarket of beliefs that will get you nowhere.

SS: The film is not intended to be what's called a biopic. That is not the purpose of the film. The purpose of the film is to have Neale's experience be a metaphor for every human being that has ever gone through a dark night of the soul. And all of us have. At least one, probably more. [...]


When you read the book, the book does not look like a film in any way. The book is a dialog between Neale and God. That is the entire book. So, when you look at the book, it does not jump out at you as a film.

When I got to know Neale, it wasn't until we totally got into the development process of this, that I really got to know the details of Neale's life living as a homeless man on the street with a broken neck collecting cans and all of his experiences that he went through. And, by the way, there is nothing in that film, there isn't a single thing in that film, not a single event, that we manufactured.

All of those things happened to Neale. Even the jackhammer sequence -- you know, waking up in the tent, making the phone call, having the jackhammer go on -- all of those things are things that happened, and I thought this is an incredible way to tell a very empowering, uplifting story, and also have these extraordinary messages from CWG in the film.

This vision of God that is in the film is a nondenominational spirituality. It does not in any way denigrate or elevate any belief system about God. It is just about faith. And one of the things that I've been so touched by and moved by, has been the response in the Christian audience and in the Christian media to our film. There's a place called christianhotspot.com and hollywoodjesus.com, that have given absolutely glowing and wonderful reviews and recommendations to CWG. And that's wonderful and encouraging to me because I believe people who are on a spiritual path, and people who are on a traditionally religious path, have much more in common than there is in difference. And this film is intended to bridge -- to be a bridge -- between these belief systems. [...]

JB: So somebody who might be a little skeptical doesn't need to fear going in that, "Oh, they want to change my life, but they want the movie to change my life by changing my belief system"?

SS: Oh, listen. I don't want to change anybody's life. The intention of this is not to change anyone's life, or change anybody's belief system. That, to me, would be a definite misuse of a film. In many ways, actually, the film itself may indeed confirm for people their own belief system. And that's great. That's great. This is not meant to be, in any way, a challenge to anybody's belief system. It is just a belief in God. And a belief in what when you believe in God, what it can do in your life, no matter of how you define God. The exact definition doesn't matter. It's how you find that in your life. [...]

JB: You want people to take from it what they get out of it.

SS: Correct! And we're always asked, "Well, what did you intend?" My first answer to that is, "Well if I tell you, I'll have to kill you." But my serious answer to that is, what I intended is completely unimportant. What you take away from that is what's important. There's a wonderful phrase that I think really applies to that: "When art answers its own questions, it becomes dangerous. When art asks the question, and doesn't answer it, it can be inspirational." And we hope that that is what people will take away from the film, and talk about the ending with friends and say, "What did it mean to you?" and how did it feel to me? And that's wonderful, and there is no right or wrong.

JB: Create that dialog.

SS: Yeah, and there is no right or wrong way to create the dialog and a conversation with God.

JB: That's a good point because I always wonder, what does the director or the screenwriter want me to get from this? Am I supposed to come up with my own conclusions? But I felt that you were leaving it open to interpretation.

SS: That image, the final scene, was the very first thing that ever occurred to me when we sat down and developed the project. I walked into the first development meeting with Neale and our screenwriter which was in January of 2005. And I said, "Listen, I don't know what the other 98% of the movie is gonna be yet, but I can tell you this is going to be the final scene."

JB: So that was your idea?

SS: Oh yeah, this is the image that came to me, the very first image that ever came to me, and I had a very specific reason for doing it. And I have a very specific interpretation of it for myself. As a director, you can't put something up there that you don't believe in, that you don't have your own interpretation of, and then just say well everybody will take from this something different. There has to be, you have to have a point of view. It's just good not to share it. I'm thrilled that people are having these conversations about what that last sequence of the film means. I just think it's wonderful.

JB: That's what you want to leave the audience with - something to discuss afterwards.

SS: And also to be feeling good. The message in that last sequence is a loving and beautiful message from God. And that is what I want people to walk out of the theater feeling. I want them to feel better.

What do you do when you have nine children, five failed marriages, no money, a broken neck from an accident and you live in Oregon as the only guy who can't score weed? You claim to speak to God. After raking in millions of dollars in sales and speaking engagements, you find yourself here, as a sonofabitch.

Seven million copies of his 1995 book, Conversations with God have been sold. It has been translated into more than a dozen languages. His book is so popular, he has written several sequels. Funny that God didn't learn from all those Police Academy movies. He also has a Conversations with God for Teens. And here I thought the O'Reilly Factor for Kids was obscene.

Why does God only speak to desperate people? Don't you think he'd more likely be a get for Diane Sawyer or Katie Couric? No, God seems to commune with people who have little money and who like to read a lot (I guess Sawyer and Couric are out). Not fair, but I guess any tactic is reasonable when you have MasterCard breathing down your neck.

As Georges Bataille wrote in Theory of Religion, "...the positing, in the world, of a 'supreme being,' distinct and limited like a thing, is first of all an impoverishment. There is doubtless, in the invention of a supreme being, a determination to define a value that is greater than any other. But this desire to increase results in diminution. Sorry about that. I have to possess the writer for a moment. This is God. Let me clarify a few things. I'm the real deal. I did not speak through Jesus, Mohammad, Moses, and certainly not Abraham. Do you really think I'd be dick enough to tell a guy to kill his kid in order to impress me? I saw all that go down, exasperated, as Abraham continuously melted down and then changed his mind. I could have told him to stop, but I kind of knew he would come around on his own, only way these nuts are going to learn. You should have seen how awkward the family dinners were between those two after that. Man, Isaac was pissed. Then again, his old man was like hundred years old or something like that.

I'm definitely not speaking through Neale Donald Walsch. I know he claims to be just "inspired" by God, but that's just semantic nuance. Why call your book Conversations with God, then say, "no, these are not REAL conversations." People believe this crap. Like there is a difference between benchmarks and timetables.

And, why is it I only say things to make people feel better? Why am I moody like a human? I'm benevolent at one turn, wrathful the next. I don't have bad days. Rain doesn't piss me off and lead me to bomb a city.

These people want your money, I don't. Why is it that in these conversations books, I never say "blow jobs on demand?" People won't believe it because they don't want to hear it (well, I guess some don't). Instead I'm always saying "love each other" and "treat others as you would be treated" and "support tax cuts." I'm a bit busy for that crap. Damn, why did I make everyone so gullible?

No parting wisdom here. Is Hitler in Heaven like Walsch writes? Not really. We passed in the hallway a few times. I just shook my head and walked past him. He's not the only jerk to disappoint me. I'll reserve my judgments on the living for now, but those that focus on the afterlife without any proof but a book you picked up at Holiday Inn is not the best way to go. No fire, no virgins, no harps. Lot's of pissed off people here, trying to get back to your world. Hey, what do you want from me? I can't kill everyone that claims to speak for me. Plus, it's just no fun.

sounds like Neale is toeing the line of a theocracy-using the 'god told me to do it' bit like Bush does with the war in Iraq, etc. also reminds me of the course in miracles authors suing for copyright infringment when they channeled Jesus into their books and found out someone else was using the messages.
 
Then there is the Wikipedia article. Interesting that CWG is the first "channeled" book to hit the NY Times Best Seller List. I think that says something.

Neale Donald Walsch was born in Milwaukee September 10, 1943, USA, and brought up as a Roman Catholic by a family who encouraged his quest for spiritual truth. He studied The Bible, the Rig Veda and the Upanishads, and is best known for his book series Conversations with God. The books so far in the series are Conversations With God (books 1-3), Friendship with God, Communion with God, The New Revelations, Tomorrow's God, and What God Wants. His newest book, Home with God: In a Life That Never Ends, was released on March 29, 2006.

He says his books are not channelled, but rather that they are inspired by God and that they can help a person relate to Him from a modern perspective. The God in his books, for example, says that "there is nothing you have to do." Walsch believes in a pantheistic God, who tries to communicate Himself as being unselfish. His vision expressed is of a New Spirituality: an expansion and unification of all present theologies; a refreshing of them, rendering all of our current sacred teachings even more relevant to our present day and time. He created Humanity's Team as a spiritual movement whose purpose is to communicate and implement New Spirituality beliefs, particularly that we are all one with God and one with life, in a shared global state of being.

Walsch has met with some criticism for what some see as appearing overly zealous in finding ways to make money for his spin-off organizations.

There are parallels with this philosophy and that of the Baha'i Faith, although the Baha'i Faith does not believe in pantheism.

The books are also usually broadly categorized within the New Age subculture, somewhat inaccurately since it proposes no religious constructs and is generally in harmony with the underlying themes of mainstream western spiritual culture (e.g. have a basic sense of propriety, live free while respecting the freedom of others, treat others as you would have yourself be treated, honor nature and the supreme being, etc.).

Before starting to publish these books in the early 1990s, Walsch suffered a series of crushing blows - a fire that destroyed all of his belongings, the break-up of his marriage, a car accident that left him with a broken neck. Once recovered but alone and unemployed, Walsch was forced to live in a tent in Jackson Hot Springs, just outside Ashland, Oregon, collecting beer cans and soda in order to eat. At the time, Walsch thought his life had come to an end. Despondent, Walsch began his writings after working his way out of homelessness following a short-lived job as a radio talk show host.

In 2003, the film Indigo, written by Neale Donald Walsch and James Twyman and directed by Stephen Simon was released. It chronicled the story of the redemption of a grandfather, played by Walsch, through his granddaughter, who is an indigo child.

I've read the books, and it's true, he does plug the New World Order, although he does it in a way that appeals to normal peoples' conscience. Who wouldn't want a large global community where everyone gets along? Unfortunately, it is this naive idealism that is used by those who know better to create mass revolution and total war. Walsch seems like a useful idiot of sugar-sweet cosmic cointelpro. Tastes good, but down the road you get cavities.

As for the books themselves, for someone trapped in the materialist world-view, they may be good for something, and I found them easy and fun to read when I read them a few years ago. Entertaining, and steps on a few religious sacred cows, but doesn't really get into the question of 'evil' and its true nature.
 
I tend to agree with hkoehli: Walsch seems to be just a useful idiot who needed some bux and found a way to make them and it just happened to coincide with the NWO agenda. He's probably just the Diet Coke of Evil: Just ONE calorie!

I agree. Once I read them and was still struggling with the thought that there could be more than physical matter. An idea that scared me very much at that time. They helped me at least to open up for the possibility that there could be such an energy/entity like "god". If I look at these books today I can't look at them as I did some years ago. But maybe I just had to read them first to open up my mind a little, before I could take the next step.
 
i read the trilogy too, some time ago.

i really struggled to finish parts 2 and 3 because they were just repetetive and boring and didn't add much new information.

i would classify CWG as a classic example of new age COINTELPRO - lots of fuzzy warm 'love' and 'unity' valium and in between the agenda of the controllers gets pushed.

a friend of mine met walsh at a lecture and was quite impressed with him as a person. (but my friend doesn't speak english to well, so it might have been easy to impress him ;) )
(coincidentally this friend is still kinda stuck in the sea of new age disinfo at the moment and i have the feeling he doesn't quite believe me when i tell him that most of the teachings have been corrupted and distorted. but he'll snap out of it in due time, i'm certain)

this is my first post here. I'll be doing a proper introduction of myself shortly. Let's just say for now that I'm a huge fan of Laura's writing; I'm currently reading "The Secret History..." and finding it very, very interesting. The chapter on who wrote the Bible with thousands of names, pharaohs, kings etc. are making reading just for the moment a bit slow. :)

I just wanted to make one comment on this Neal Donald Walsh-business. I've read all three of the CWG series and cursory browsed through "Tomorrows God", which I'm not so sure I'll ever finish. There's a lot suspicious stuff in those books, but the one quite fundamental thing that was really bothering me from the beginning is: how was/is he physically capable of writing all that stuff down with a piece of pen and a yellow pad? (In the trailer of the film you also see the character of Neal lying on the sofa with a yellow paper pad and a pen).

The thing really hit me when I read the first few chapters of "Tomorrows God". In there he states that, in a similar fashion to the CWG series, he wrote the whole text down in a very short period (In between of the CWG volumes he did have long breaks! though). And this is where it gets really ridiculous: He says that "Tomorrow's God", which is 350 pages, was written by him (guided by God of course) uninterrupted, in one single session!

Well, that's a whole lot of scribbling. I personally think that the whole 'channeling' of Neals books is BS. The CWG series was a good eye opener for certain things, but I really hesitate to recommend or give it to any friends, as I once did. :shock:

This book was also translated into Turkish and was mentioned by a girl in my office. She was really very much in the spell. As ArdVan says "They helped me at least to open up for the possibility that there could be such an energy/entity like "god". Some books are like that, like a stepping stone in your search, making you ask more questions, sometimes whether you are aware or not, they serve their purpose if you don't get entrapped and continue your search.

I'm not sure what to make of his character on the basis of this clip; there are moments when he's seems to "give a testimony" learned by hart(like the one in the beginning when he talks about how God started talking to him), but then again he has some pretty good insights on some things like the "evil is a relative thing"-talk. The thing that IMO is the most creepy in this clip is when he says how people in high places are often accused wrongly - he says it in a way that you feel how he's really sorry for these people (Bush etc) and somehow I get the feeling that he means himself as well. I think he's a real chameleon of a guy!

Well, make your own judgment if you find the time :)
 
The video shows Walsch claiming world government to be a short-term solution for current disarray and defending Bush Sr., suggesting that maybe the evil CIA Bush became "a bigger man" when he became president. This suggests that he is aware of certain allegations against Bush and CIA deeds during his CIA tenure, but not after.

More interesting is the fact that Walsch says he put the Bush praise in the book because it is what he received -- that he made no judgment on it. So, by his own admission, he is entirely non-critical of what he receives and doesn't even research it.
