Neill Blomkamp’s - Rakka

Rakka takes place in a world where humanity has been decimated by an alien invasion and treated as little more than vermin or breeding stock. Weaver portrays a resistance leader named Jasper, but there’s not much of a resistance left by the time this story begins. Even short-lived victories are met by brutal retaliation, and there isn’t much hope for humanity’s survival. But that’s not to say that all hope is gone.

Lizzies everywhere....

Quite dystopic!Too bad many commenters see the alien invaders being a analogous to muslims. Wishful thinking I suppose.

I do not read the comments, but do they really say that? The movie is very literal. Honestly, they can no longer hide their presence in this world.

Yeah they do,the movie is symbolic, but it's a lot closer to columbus meeting natives than islamisation of the west.

Ahh, Ellen Ripley from Alien, long time no see :) Great short, there is indeed some hidden symbolic to it under the sci-fi alien theme...

Hi KatBon81,

Since this is your first post on the forum, we would appreciate it if you would post a brief intro about yourself in the Newbies section, telling us how you found this forum, how long you've been reading it and/or the SOTT page, whether or not you've read any of Laura's books yet, etc. There are introductions by other members in that section to give you an idea.

Welcome :)
