We are very happy to announce that we have just released our first Audiobook!

There's a preview on the listing where you can hear AI Laura narrating the introduction. It's not the same as hearing the entire book narrated, but it's a good preview of what it's like to have Laura read The Wave to you.

We hope you enjoy it!!!

How was it done?

The audiobook version was created by cloning Laura's voice (several hours of recordings), and with the help of Artificial Intelligence. After that, we edited each file as carefully as possible, "training" AI to pronounce things correctly, and to sound more natural. This is not a perfect system but we are quite happy with the result, and hope that you will be too! With the little glitches and imperfections of the system, you can still enjoy engaging your imagination with the text.

Volume II is in the works.

Why not on Audible?

We would have liked to, but unfortunately, Amazon refuses to accept audiobooks that are not fully read by the author (THAT would take months of recording, being how prolific a writer Laura is!), and for AI assistance, it would have been extremely mechanical sounding. It wouldn't allow us to clone Laura's voice. But we are planning on uploading the books on other platforms as well, such as Spotify and inAudio.

Please let us know if you like it, and we will continue producing them!

A big thank you to @A Jay for coordinating the project, and to @Alejo, @Alana, @Aliana, @Yas, and @Mrs. Peel for dedicating hours of their time to help us "proof-listen" and spot all glitches and things that could be improved!

Woohooo!!!! Finally out :D

It was a rather interesting exercise to listen to the work of Laura, not just as a refresher of her ideas, but the most interesting probably is to revisit the materials with different perspectives, growth and see it, or hear it, with different eyes and ears.

So, I'd actually recommend it to everyone.

Wow, AI did a great job, I really wouldn’t have known the difference.

Great work everyone. This will be so helpful for people who have vision problems too.
I think it’s a great idea to have The Wave in audio, accessible for all.
