Nightmare before a scary, real incident

The Living Force
I want to report a strange dream here, which was connected to a scary event in reality shortly after waking up. This happened in October 2009, a few weeks ago.

I was wandering in a landscape with a large mountain. There was green grass, but there was such a penetrating cold that I thought to myself that I can't stand it. But nevertheless I went upside the gentle slopes of this mountain. There was a road and I followed it along until I saw a car parking besides the road. There were two persons in it, involved in some action, and I immediately knew that they must not see me. I froze. I didn't know what the action was in the car, but it occurred to me that they had sex or something. Unfortunately, they DID notice me, and I somehow knew that there was immediate danger; so I fled down the mountain. While fleeing, I woke up with the physical symptoms of a nightmare. I know this symptoms well (heartbeat, adrenalin, very anxious, not daring to move, etc.)

So I was lying awake and knew that something was up. I had some experiences with nightmares before that tell me that not everything is harmless drama based on intrapsychic fiction. My girlfriend was sleeping besides me. We live in a rented flat, and there are two or three other parties in the house.

A few seconds after I woke up, I heard a long and scary scream from a male voice from the flat below us. I knew that it was our neighbor. And I REALLY was awake, it was no dream any more. A dog began to bark somewhere in the house. He never barked before and I didn't even know that there is a dog. Then a second, long scream from below our flat. My heart pounded wildly. My girlfriend cringed a bit, but continued to sleep.

I never heard such a scream before; it was like from a torture chamber. My brain went into overdrive. What had happened? After a few minutes everything went silent again. On the next morning, my girlfriend told me that she didn't notice anything.

I know that the family below us has some problems. Sometimes they fight, and the don't treat their children right. They cry constantly and obviously turn to young psychos themselves. They don't abuse them physically, I think, but it is definitely a vampiric and narcisstic family to the max.

Somehow I was alarmed very shortly BEFORE this incident happened. I think that the "other persons" in this dream, "their activity" and my "seeing" was somehow connected to what happened shortly after in our house. It was 3 in the morning.

Somehow I am glad that I noticed it, but now I am also a bit worried and afraid.

Any response is welcome!

Hi Data. You say that you have reason to believe that "not everything is harmless drama based on intrapsychic fiction." I personally believe that is correct, but don't know anything about dream symbolism.

If this experience was one of those extraordinary ones, could it be possible that while you slept, some part of you encountered the force(s) in play downstairs causing such a ruckus? The part of the dream about fearing being seen, realizing you were seen and running would connect all that together, it seems.

Can you say a bit about what this worry and afraid seems to be connected to mostly - you personally, your safety, or some or all of the individuals downstairs, or something else?

Hi Data, maybe this thread could be of help or maybe related: The $%$$&%$@ next door?!

Earlier in my life I thought that nightmares happen from time to time, just so, and there is nothing more to it. Later, after I read material from The Wave and other books, especially the various podcasts from Laura, I got the idea that not everything is so simple in the psychic world and that everything has a reason. So I decided to be more aware when I should awake from the next nightmare, having physical symptoms.

I seldom have nightmares now. The one explained above is my third in this year. While being in the hypnopomic state of the previous two nightmares, I noticed some interesting things:

In March of this year, it was the first night in our flat, I had a nightmare. While waking up, I heard a scream in our room. It was not really acoustic, but I could hear it. There were other occasions where I had similar nightmares on the FIRST night of sleeping somewhere.

In summer of this year I had my second nightmare. I slowly awoke, was hearing clearly an agonized scream from outside the house, 'echoing' a long time from the other houses in our street. I got up, wandering around in the flat, and noticed that all windows were CLOSED. So there was no possibility of it being a real scream, and nobody was outside. The interesting thing is, that on the next day, there was a stabbing in our small city, in a restaurant not far away, where one was seriously injured.

That could be. But it will need more and careful observation to draw conclusions.

I think, being afraid from the unknown; of being blind to it; unable to do intelligent actions for protection. It is like going into a dark, wet, basement, where lots of spiders and bugs are on the walls. And worried about the people downstairs; that they could endanger us. Not physically, but in other ways.

Thanks for your response, Buddy!

Thank you Gawan for directing me to this thread. Very interesting. I don't think the situation warrants police involvement. But I definitely will be paying attention to whats happening there.
