This story has been running on our local (San Antonio, Texas) news lately as they uncover the full story. Seems an average traffic stop led to finding out:
The stopee had stolen the identity of a local man.
The stopee had friends (15 of them) and at least one of the group murdered the local man and buried him in his own back yard.
The group then moved into the victims house and began selling off all the victims belongings - even trying to sell the house.
