With the relationship of Bob and Sue being revealed and my recent reading of Wave 7 I have come to the conclusion that it is very likely that I was dealing with a psychopath a few years ago. Luckily this was only on an online video game and didn't progress into real life. I was thinking about this at work where I was reading the Wave 7 and it was very relieving and like I had healed a part of myself. I've since forgotten all of the nice gems I was thinking about, but it was just personal revelations regarding the issue.
Just a little detail about my "dance" with her. I think at some point I took her "bait" and showed an interest. Then we would hang out in the game, and I would usually pay for things or give her items or money. She was always wanting things and I would give them up, including my time. She was very cold and not very respectful to anyone. It seems a lot of signs of psychopathy were there. But I just insisted on pursuing the illusion and being manipulated and lying to myself. Even some online friends who observed our actions would tell me that I was basically projecting an illusion. I wanted to be the knight that would save her from herself, and this just wouldn't happen. I don't think she ever considered us more than friends, and it took a long time for her to admit that. I could go on further, but I think it has been resolved for me and there is much general information on psychopathy here that would go right along with my experiences.
So I can totally relate to the issue of the recent session that Bob experienced. It really is a tale as old as time. I had suspected before that she was a psychopath, but the Wave 7 closed the deal for me, where it talks briefly about the female psychopaths' actions. I guess it kind of is nice to be able to name an experience, just as I found out what all those bothersome negative thoughts are: the Predator's Mind.
So I just wanted to share, for whatever it's worth. Of course now I have more knowledge to identify this kind of thing, and am not concerned with relationships now. I also realize that we all are vulnerable and that anyone can be specifically targeted. But hopefully continuing to learn and network will help us to avoid these things, as well as learning from the unfortunately painful lessons of others.
