A friend has a one year old baby that has osteoporosis , I was wondering if anyone had experiences in this area ... have looked at Brendan Braziers Thrive Diet .... nuts , seeds , chlorophyll etc ... but wondering if I am heading in the right direction

If it is caused by a genetic defect, there may not be a right direction. If it is a food sensitivity, plant foods offer many more ways to go wrong. Have antibiotics been given? Signs of inflammatory bowel disease? Is there adequate food? Family history?

You are right, though to be asking questions. I would not be confident that medical people with average training would respond appropriately. The "treatments" they offer too often come at a steep cost, in terms of quality of life after treatment as well as cost.

Is the baby breastfeeding? For instance, if the baby is having soy formula, that is the worst possible thing for osteoporosis.

The mother's diet is of utmost importance and it is a paleo diet which will help both the most, removing gluten from the mother's diet and adding animal foods and their fats. It is minerals and vitamins from animal foods such as sardines the ones better available to our bodies since it has other needed nutrients that will help with its proper metabolism. Bone formation has to do with vitamin D, magnesium, vitamin K, and other nutrients other than calcium.
