Pacific NW winds, power outage and 4.2 earthquake in one day...

A Disturbance in the Force
Last night, Nov 15th in Tumwater WA (Puget sound, 50 miles So of Seattle) we had very very odd weather events...Sheet type lightening, where clouds flashed neon blue, high above us, with no thunder. It seemed strange for there not to be any thunder, usually there is something, after the flashes that can be heard..I rationalized this as maybe the winds were blowing the sound away from me, therefore I couldn't hear them???Although I have never recalled this before in my life experience......The wind was \ gusting 45mph with rain hitting the house then seemingly calming to normal for 30 or so minutes then back to the mini hurricane...It went that way on and off all evening, our power flickered on and off, we temporarily lost internet connection, but dodged the annual fall/winter/spring blackout this time....This morning I was woken by my bed literally jumping slightly up off the floor enough to shake me awake, and I am not a light sleeper! :wow:...My son ran in and said, earthquake...We experienced the 6.7 Nisqually Quake around 7 years ago at close range, the epicenter was 7 miles away...This quake was centered near the Northern side of Mt. St Helens, still it was centered close to Morton Wa and not on the foot of or on the mountain. I also clearly remember the Mt. St Helens, pre rumbling, eruption and post eruption events..I do not remember ever feeling an earth quake even when the mountain was quaking shaking and getting ready to blow, from this far away...Even when Mt St Helen actually erupted, we could see the plume and ash from the volcano in the horizon, it looked like a nuclear explosion from afar..I remember it vividly, and without an earthquake to be felt here in and around Olympia, Lacey or Tumwater Washington....They are claiming this earth quake, which isn't on one of the numerous fault lines in the PNW, was from Mt. St Helens :/...Also the paper informed it's readers that the weather and the quake were not related, I could except that, but I question why they would have to make this claim that earthquakes and weather are not related, since this seems to be in the excepted belief in mainstream science realms category...This event was strange starting with the blue cloud lightening without thunder, the time periods of calm like the storm is over only to begin again, and then the earthquake, that is from the mountain that has been quaking on and off for years, it's documented, but not felt over this distance or ever been as strong...I would say that if this is true, then we have a huge huge problem, maybe a super cauldron under the volcano, like Yellowstone, that's ready to blow us all to bits ,that they have never detected or mentioned ?????The news, explanation from the "Official Credentialed Expert" disturbs me more than the actual event, it's the ole "Nothing to See Here, Folks" we have it under control, know all about it, go back to sleep, thing...., I have lived here (Thurston county) since 1979 and there is defiantly more going on here than they are saying.. The actual events are no way as disturbing as the explanation of the events given in the local media by the people who are passing this off as a normal event. It appears to me, that this has been presented as an open and shut case, certified by the experts and that to question this event, is not really an option, even though anyone who has lived in this area for 30 plus years, who has a good memory can see that this is not a normal event.....Questioning, seems to have become an invitation to being labeled as a conspiracy theorist, which seems to be the socially programmed code for crazy nut case, pariah...I am sure that I am not alone in my queries, and that there is a shared emotion of anxiety...My 20yr old son, brought up 2012, etc...I told his this has nothing to do with any bogus events that are rumored to happen in the year 2012, but it smells like things are being shaken up, lied about and so on to keep others anxious and worried.. I felt that we were in an episode of the Twilight Zone this morning and even more so after I read the official version of reality that makes absolutely no sense at all.... :umm: :jawdrop: http://www.theolympian.com/2010/11/16/1441751/35-magnitude-earthquake-hits-south.html They claim that people thought it was an explosion, well my son and I knew exactly what it was, and it did not feel like an explosion, it felt like the earth was moving underneath us, just like a earth quake...

Hi Volma,

Welcome to the forum. :) We recommend all new members to post an introduction in the Newbies section telling us a bit about themselves, and how they found their way here. Have a read through that section to get an idea of how others have done it. Thanks.

Thanks for the report, Volma - it sounds like we something to keep an eye on. Any updates would be appreciated as well.

Ditto. I used to live 40 miles from Mt. St. Helens when it blew. I never felt an earthquake. So you "supposedly" feeling an earthquake under St. Helens from Tumwater is very suspicious, as you said. Now if it had been Mt. Ranier, that would be different. I'm surprised at the fact that they didn't say it was from Mt. Ranier if they were trying to pass off something strange. That would have made more sense. But maybe getting people to think that they are hiding something is what they are really after.

I live in Tacoma and the weather has been crazy, our lights went out and it served as a good reminder of what is to come, because you better believe something wicked this way comes.
