Paintings of the Yezidi Genocide

A friend of mine shared with me a set of photos on imgur.com of several paintings by presumably Yezidi or Kurdish painters, depicting some very graphic and sorrowful scenes from the war in Iraq and Syria. The link is below, but I've decided to embed some of the paintings directly. A part of me almost wants to question the authenticity of some of them, but regardless I feel like the emotional import of the images speak for themselves and the nature of war.

Thanks for sharing Whitecoast - for me the more abstract one's 1,6,7,8, have the most impact - particularly 1,6 & 7 - probably because your imagination can stir up some pretty grim feelings. But then i also think they tell stories no photograph can, and they deserve to be told.

Edit: grammar

Thanks for sharing Whitecoast. We need more artists whose work depicts the true brutality of war and genocide.

Thank you for sharing!

They are heartbreaking, but very good.

They are really good and poignant, especially number 7.

Seeing all of that, I cant say anything but thank you Vladimir Putin for stopping all of that.
