The Living Force
I made a big decision about a year ago which resulted in putting my practice on hold and moving back to my small home town to look after my 89-year-old mother. After I’d settled in to my new living quarters in her big old house, I looked out the window and saw a familiar dogwood tree that I’ve seen for the past 47 years. But that morning, viewing it from the new living quarters in my “new world,” I saw something I’d never seen before.
Growing out of a tangle of twisted branches--some of which had died long ago—one branch was vigorously growing straight up seemingly in defiance of the rest of the tree. To me, this was a confirmation of my decision to move (i.e. to "go out on a limb" and "branch out").
But after watching Laura's recent video, on a macro scale, this old dogwood also seems to provides a perfect depiction of a potential, positive branching of the “living system”.
