Planet 9 ?

Yet still to be seen. So, is it a real development? WHY are astronomers excited? Is it coming our way? Has it got a satellite, a Nibiru-type thing anxious to whizz off in our direction? And has this recent discovery only come to light because of its position in orbit around the sun?

And finally, is it relevant?

It seems this research is being taken much more seriously than other hunts for extra planets or companion stars. A lot of people think it could be Nemesis, but this Planet X and Nemesis (as reported by Pierre in the Earth Changes and the Human Cosmic Connection book) have vastly different orbital periods. Planet X is proposed to be 15,000 years, while Nemesis is tens of millions of years. So they're definitely different objects.

Some people want to name the new 9th planet Pluto, which would be hilarious.
