I don't think the behaviour is that uncharacteristic. As the narrator of the slide-show says, fish and wildlife workers have told him that they often see wolves and bears playing together in the wild. In her book Three Among the Wolves: A Couple and Their Dog Live a Year with Wolves in the Wild, Helen Thayer reports that most of the interactions between wolves and polar bears that she and her husband witnessed were peaceful in nature, even to the point of sharing food. In a quick internet search I found several references in scientific journals and the like to the fact that although predatory behaviour between the two species is sometimes seen, it is the exception rather than the rule. Also, huskies are not wolves, they are domesticated dogs, which have been bred for centuries for their qualities of "perpetual adolescence"; therefore bears probably perceive them as they would young wolf cubs, i.e. as non-threatening.
