Ponyo

While reviewing my twitter feed today, I noticed Ebert's announcement that Ponyo, by Hayao Miyazaki (Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke) is now available in English Dubbed version on Netflix.

Ebert's review: _http://rogerebert.suntimes.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20090812/REVIEWS/908129989

I'll give my thoughts after I've watched it.

Also, if you want to watch other Miyazaki works like Spirited Away or Howl's Moving Castle, you can find them on Google Video.

For what it's worth I loved it.
It's cute, touching and funny at the same time.

Ten thumbs up even though I only have two hands.

I can't give a full review as my internet connection wasn't cooperating and I finally got tired of trying to watch it. However, from the first 40 minutes I saw of it, it was every bit as good as the rest of Miyazaki's works, and you'll feel yourself in touch with the pure joy and wonder of a child as you watch it.

I really enjoyed this one as well. However, Miyazaki did make this flick for his very young grandchildren so it's definitely more for kids than his other works like Princess Mononoke or others.. even spirited away.

Still it's an enjoyable watch, all studio Ghibli stuff is :D Two thumbs up here too

Not to get :offtopic: but I wanted to mention that the next Studio Ghibli film announced is called Karigurashi no Arrietty or The Borrower Arrietty which is based on the book The Borrowers by Mary Norton. I'm really looking forward to seeing this movie because I read the Borrowers when I was little and I loved it a lot.

Thanks for that Deedlet. I´ve mainly watched Miyakaki's movies so far (including Ponyo) and find them absolutely beautiful.
This one is from Hiromasa Yonebayashi and apparently this is the only movie he's directed so far, from what I gathered from Imdb he's mainly been an animator.

I'll definitely be watching it soon.

Thanks Deedlet, I love Ghibli's movies. Seeing how Miyazaki portraits kids makes me think he must be a great observer.

I love all Miyazaki movies, in particular Ponyo. Amazing stories with lovable characters and superb animation. I recommend all of the Miyazaki films to everyone, since each of them has a different quality that makes them very enjoyable. They're great! :D

I would advise to see them in the original Japanese if possible, though... :D
