Government will safeguard strategic reserve of food.

Portugal is between the European countries most depend of food from the exterior, but the government wants to change the situation, the weekly paper Expresso states this Saturday.

The country should at least have a food reserve to two months, but it doesn't. The ministries of Agriculture and Defense are going to try to solve the problem, the newspaper adds.

According to the same newspaper, Portuguese will start to be alerted by the government to the importance of having always at home a mini reserve of foods for eventual situations of crisis.

I just found this piece of news (the highlighted part) strange because, the government in Portugal is not custom to make this kind of scare tactics, at least not so blatantly talking explicitly of a crisis of world proportions in order to incite fear, but it could be a new trend. Could someone in the know how trying to warn the populace in general, i know they are politics, and we all know what that means, but i remember in the last session from the C's that in Spain the rate of psychopaths was 2.6, and as Portugal is just next door maybe the rate is similar and there is still someone in government that has some consideration for the rest of the people.
