I saw one of the pics on facebook the other day, and thought to myself that it looks pretty real but could still have shopped.
After seeing this article however, I'm much more convinced because of the second of the same sighting, but also this particular comment:

This is the caption for the pics, though they don't mention this in the article. Most other news results, after searching, seem to just be classic debunking, with no real evidence (the only argument being this can be 'shopped, therefore it must be 'shopped). It could still be fake, and I'm not discounting the possibility, but still, there is no account for the second pic (I'm referring here to the one taken in a suburban area from the IOL article, the other is the more widely circulated one).
If anyone has access to image analysis tools that would settle this, that would be really great :) If this one is real, I would just LOVE to know what the hell is going on here! And if it has anything to do with the recent student protests against fees, which have been more violent at the university closest to where the UFO was spotted.
