Prayers for Sutton

The Force is Strong With This One
Hi All!

I hope this is the right place for this request.
My 5 year old son is having Surgery on 6/10/2010 at Medical City Children's Hospital in Dallas, Texas

He has a condition called craniosynostosis which is the premature closing of the sutures of the skull.
Additionally in his case his mid-face doesn't grow at the same rate as the rest of his skull.
So in order to help his breathing and to protect his eyes he will be fitted with a distraction device to pull his mid-face forward.

We have been through many serious surgeries in his short life and this is next in the line.

I'm asking for all of you good people to say a little prayer for a successful surgery and a quick recovery.

Typically after these surgeries he develops an infection due to MRSA which he picked up during one of his early surgeries at the hospital.

I'm really praying that he doesn't get a reoccurrence of this infection as it can cause everything from death to the removal of the distraction device
that would set him back in his progress.

I could go on and on about all the various details about what he and our family has been through with Sutton but I will spare ya'll the details.

My wife Jenny recently published a book that helped us explain to Sutton what was coming next.
Here is a link to the book if anyone cares to read it.

I loved finally seeing a picture of Sutton at the end of the book. What a cute little kid!

Much energy towards Sutton's speedy recovery! Any idea how long he'll have to wear the "Crazy hat?"

I'll have Sutton in mind -- I'm sorry he has had to go through so much so young, and that this surgery goes as smoothly as possible.

Hi Guardian,

Depending on Sutton's particular bone morphology, which due to extremely tight tolerances that even with a 3D model they produced the surgeon will not know until he gets in there - it will be 2 to 3 months.

Thank you for asking and I thank you all for your support!!!!
