"Zelensky's chief of staff, Andrii Yermak, has submitted his resignation - the highest level official to fall amid the massive graft probe which has brought rare international embarrassment on the Zelensky government."

Andriy Yermak is of Jewish heritage through his father, who was born in Kyiv. He has publicly acknowledged his Jewish roots, noting that some of his relatives were killed in the Babyn Yar massacre during World War II. Yermak has maintained connections with Jewish relatives in Israel, the U.S., and Belgium, and has drawn parallels between Ukraine’s struggle and Jewish history, emphasizing the importance of religious freedom.

In 2024 Time named Yermak to their annual list of 100 most influential people in the world.
