A militia member and military correspondent from the United States, Russell Bentley, with the call sign "Texas", was apparently killed in the DPR.

"I received the information from the wife of "Texas", Lyudmila, she was informed that DNA analysis confirmed a match with Russell. She has not seen the body yet, so there is always a chance for a miracle," said to DAN, Chairman of the Public Chamber of the DPR A. Kofman.

Information about the death of "Texas" was also confirmed in the Vostok battalion, where he previously served.

"Texas" came to Donetsk in 2014 and became a militia member. He defended the DPR, participated in the battles for Donetsk airport, in the village of Spartak, near Yasinovataya and Avdiivka.

Russell Bentley disappeared in Donetsk on April 8 after the shelling: he went to help the victims, and communication was lost with him. His car was found at the scene: a baseball cap, glasses and a broken phone were inside. The Interior Ministry of the DPR declared the American wanted, the SK opened a missing person case.

Personally, I am very glad that it was in the tragic sense of Russell Bentley that the criminals are not covered up, but will be punished according to the law.

Not just famous. They are both heroes of our times. It's so sickening. It was done deliberately. Just as Michael Hudson said as being an important part of the old plan, in context of the Israeli war against Palestinians. It's all the same, the same script, the same 'reason', the same puppet masters and the same tactics. Hudson's main points should be learnt by heart by everyone.

This included journalist Semyon Yeryomin, from back in spring 2024. The last mention (Oct 2024) in the news of Bentley, at least on RT, was over the trial of the four soldiers apprehended in allegedly killing and torturing Russell. I've no idea of the outcome of that trial yet.

Have though of Russell over the years, to understand what he gave up and what he gave. Many in the West may have been blind to what was going on earlier if not for him, and he was joined later by people like Eva Bartlett.

No, easier to forget or never know. When an American individual like Bentley makes offer and takes action in kind, although just one man, again, no, it is easier to forget or not know.
